Ordered in June 2025 to proactively downsize from iphone (which just seem to be getting bigger!) but retain some smartphone functionality. All the bits I want to keep are working perfectly. Transitioning from iOS to android was so easy following the inbuilt programming (download an app on both phones and transfer) and all of my icloud is now safely stored and accessible in google drive.Phone is perfect size- very speedy RAM, face ID and touch ID opening working well. sound quality great for such a little handset. Only thing I am struggling to get working is the remote pay function. But to be honest, I am not that bothered by that. All apps I have downloaded work perfectly (google maps, banking, amazon music, google messenger (for text), WhatsApp, facebook messenger etc etc). Perfect for avoiding social media doomscrolling as screen a little small to really enjoy that so a win all round! Messaging via swipe type and dictation perfect, but also not prohibitive to txt on touchscreen keyboard, despite size.Delighted with my Jelly Star! Long may it last! and well done to the manufacturer for producing a small handset smartphone that actually works- rather than the toy versions you see on amazon with tiny 3 GB RAM which won't operate the platform well.

I am extremely impressed with this phone. It is completely functional despite being tiny, extremely light, and astonishingly cheap. For context, I am coming from an iPhone 11 Pro and purchased this because I wanted something lighter and smaller for Anki and Duolingo. This is about half the weight and size of my iPhone.It is absolutely perfect for Anki; the text is completely legible, the controls work well, the speaker is perfectly sufficient for audio files containing speech on the cards, and most importantly, it is so light and small that I can easily use it one-handed for hours with minimal fatigue even while laying in bed. The experience is exactly the same as on my phone, except much better thanks to the size and weight. That said, typing is a bit inconvenient for cards that require typed answers, but I don't have too many of those and it's still perfectly doable, you just need to be a bit more careful.Duolingo is a bit less optimal in that the app is different than on a larger device, but it is completely functional all the same; it's just that you have to tap a button to bring up the answer choices and there aren't as many to choose from, but this is at most a minor inconvenience and in fact I would even consider it a step up from the default experience to some degree since it prevents you from accidentally seeing the answer while thinking of it.In terms of performance, I have not noticed any lag or stuttering at all. In fact, I would say that the performance is better than my iPhone 11 Pro based on how quick it is to navigate around the phone and open apps, but since I don't have an Android device to reference I can't say how much of that is due to the OS.Obviously the phone itself feels pretty cheap and I'm not enamored by the unnecessary camera bump and things like that, but given that I only paid 180 GBP for it I'm not docking any points for that. Considering the price and that this is the only smartphone available at this size and weight which supports a (relatively) recent OS, I think the five star rating is fully justified.I am very happy that someone is still making reasonably sized phones and am so pleased with this little thing that I'm probably going to end up installing LineageOS and making it my main device.

After a year with this miniature marvel, I can tell you it largely delivers on its promise of a compact Android experience, which is a breath of fresh air in a market obsessed with ever-larger screens. For daily use, it's generally a smooth operator with most Android apps, though some display quirks due to its diminutive size – that's often the trade-off with anything non-standard. The battery life, while only lasting a day, is perfectly manageable, especially given its quick charge and no noticeable degradation, which is a good sign for longevity.Now, onto the snags. The NFC and fingerprint scanner playing up after a year is a definite shame, even if they aren't showstoppers for my personal use. It's frustrating to have features fail, particularly when they prevent something like passport scanning, which hints at a more fundamental hardware or software glitch. While credit is due to their support for being responsive and providing technical guidance, it's ultimately a letdown that these issues remain unresolved. It works well, does what it says for the most part, and generally feels like it'll last, but those lingering technical gremlins do take a bit of the shine off an otherwise unique and practical little phone.
