The Brandon Li SmallRig iPhone filming setup is so good, I bought it twice. The build quality is excellent — sturdy, lightweight, and clearly designed for creators who want professional-level results without carrying a full camera rig. The grip feels great during long shoots, and the mounting options make it easy to add lights, mics, and other accessories. For the price, you can’t beat the performance. It instantly gives your iPhone footage a more cinematic, stabilized feel. After using it regularly, I can say this is one of the best mobile filming setups out there. Highly recommended for beginners and experienced filmmakers alike.

It is perfect for creative cinematic shots without using a gimbal. And it really protects the phone. I’ve dropped my phone several times and the cage didn’t even get a scratch!

It is small but very well made. The metal frame clicks into place nicely and fits the 15 Pro Max iPhone perfectly. The green Brandon Lee design looks great, and is very solid. I love the easily removable handles that have cold shoes for extra accessories as well as the same for the frame. It’s a great value for the money and I don’t worry that my phone is going to fall out.

I use it without the handles but with just the "handle connectors" and can get all ten fingers on the iPhone and grips (I have medium hands). I added gaff tape to all surfaces that are touched because the material is very slick. With the ND filter on, it still has room for my Samsung T7 drive. Has a perfect place for Peak Design wrist strap. Everything fits in a small bag that can also hold a DJI iPhone gimbal. Only negative is that the ND filter swivels onto the lens and the correct position is "halfway on". I wished it swiveled until it "stopped" and then was perfectly aligned. I wish the ND went to 64 instead of just 32. With the handles it is relatively "heavy" perhaps it could have been made lighter? Wish it had "built in" solution for an external SSD and/or charger. I like how solid it all feels and fits. Easy to take phone in and out but it feels totally secure. The remote trigger for me does not slide easily onto the hotshoe on the cage... bummer. All in all, I like it very much.

Outstanding quality and a great addition to the equipment I use for my photography. I love using this for greater control in my video, but honestly I use it more for stills than anything else. Fits and protects the phone like a glove. Actually getting ready to add a couple more frames for my other phones. Lightweight, robust, and adaptable to additional accessories. You can't go wrong.

If you can find one, the Neewer cage seems more robust and includes multiple accessory mount plates but the Smallrig cage has it’s pluses. The Smallrig cage has better and larger detachable handles with cold shoe mounts and a Bluetooth shutter control that slips into the cold shoes. It also has a quick magnetic filter mount but the twist lock adapter can wear and loosen over time. The Neewer cage has a more positive cage latch and the filter mount seems more robust over the Smallrig’s twist lock adapter. It is a screw on filter plate and not magnetic. I ended up sending it back. The Smallrig cages for the iPhone 16 and 17 have an improved plate attachment system and seem more robust. I decided to not use either cage systems and just rely on mag-safe case and accessory solutions to add filters over the lenses. If I need a cage, I’ll use a universal one. Cheers.

Although I think the cage is very sturdy and can accommodate a number of additional attachments such as an SSD and multi port USB-c, as well as a receiver for audio. It was a bit of a disappointment to not be able to plug a battery into the multi-USB-C attachment in order to just have one plug in, but even though the portable battery could plug into the phone and charge it, it would mean disconnecting any other devices. Having stated that, I've not seen a cage/phone item that has made it possible to have a very stable shoot, either on a C stand or handheld, although I do think the two handles that came with the order, can have a tendency to slip out of the grooves. But I definitely think it was worth the purchase especially for solo shooters and small budget outfits.

I bought this because I plan to put out more content using my phone this year for short content and as a b or c camera. The good: - the case is pretty solid and looks good in my opinion. The phone slides in easily and it’s good to go. This case could potentially be daily driven but it’s definitely a handful so beware of that. The amount of options this opens up is pretty wild. The case has 2 cold shoes for mic, ssd, power bank etc, there are quarter twenty slots all over the case so you can throw this onto a gorilla pod, tripod, selfie stick or any other compatible accessory. The handles themselves both have cold shoes which you can use to mount lights if you want. On top of all this, one of the handles has blue tooth and allows you to trigger the camera! You can take the switch off, walk away from your camera and trigger it remotely. I can imagine using this for photography as well if I had the opportunity. Overall awesome kit and I’ll update if anything fails or disappoints me.

Ces la première foi que je tien mon cell de cette façon et je ne trouve pas que je suis très stable. Je présume que je vais m'habituer et gagner de la stabilité. Mais j'aime ce produit pour sa solidité et sa simplicité.
