Brother Innov-is VQ2 Sewing Machine

This machine is the one and only one for me. Impressive. Looks great, sews beautifully, very easy to use provided you read your manual to get used to the features. Sound is soft and lighting is excellent.

Winding the bobbin and threading machine is so easy. All the stitches, the machine tells you which foot to use, the tensions are automatically set, but you can change them manually. There is a good helpful guide on the machine so if you get stuck, the onboard guides should help. I think a beginner could use this machine. The automatic needle threading works a treat. Whatever you do, never throw away the guide book, the book is very comprehensive, you also get a pamphlet which details the extra accessories you can buy and what they do. You can wind a bobbin without unthreading, a really helpful addition. To switch to free motion, all you have to do is press the button at the bottom of the screen and the feed dogs are lowered and then put on the free motion foot. I have been using the machine for a few weeks now and I have a few niggles, if I don't push the fabric in far enough, when I start sewing, the fabric gets pulled down into the machine so I bought the straight stitch needle plate as it was becoming annoying that I couldn't assembly line sew or sew right from the edge of the fabric, this needle plate has rectified my issues, but a bit miffed at having to spend nearly £40 for it, also it was very difficult unscrewing the plate supplied for the first time, and it was a bit fiddly trying to put the new needle plate in, which is why I have now given it 4 stars not 5. It has a clock included in the onboard screen. It is a substantial machine and it is heavy, but this machine is lovely to sew. I do not regret buying it, I love this machine. An update, I bought from Brother the side cutter foot attachment, after viewing online how to use the cutter, it’s easy to fit and it works, it cleanly cut the material and stitched up the end. I was really surprised to find that this machine has specific side cutter stitches included, brilliant.

I'm in love!! My wonderful machine!!! I still can't believe I own it!! It arrived very quickly! It was double packed ( inside two boxes not just one) I got a free extension table too which was lovely! Cannot praise it enough!! Thank you lovely husband for buying it for me!
