You need to know that this supplement is extremely acidic (it has 833% of your recommended daily allowance of Vitamin C, in the form of ascorbic acid) and you will have to take that into account if you have gastroesophogeal reflux disease (GERD). My arthritis doctor urged me to take this for its calcium-magnesium content. It has the form of calcium most easily absorbed by the body. She told me to take this with plain water just before going to bed. Well, that would be like reflux suicide for a person with reflux, because reflux is at its worst when you are lying down.. I simply refused to do this. She then said to take it during the day anytime I had an empty stomach. I tried this, and sometimes got stomach cramps soon after taking it. I then stopped taking it, but eventually developed muscle cramps, which can be caused by magnesium deficiency. I eat a diet with very adequate sources of magnesium, but you need to know that you don't end up with a lot of magnesium even after eating foods that have magnesium. I returned to Cal-Mag Citrate and the muscle cramps were gone within a week. I now take this supplement by mixing it with juice and taking it immediately before breakfast. The breakfast dilutes the supplement's acidity, and I will not be lying down again for many hours. This is your best way to get magnesium because it is a powder. You should see the giant tablets that magnesium supplements come in when they are sold as a tablet.

What a wonderful washy to get your daily allowance of magnesium. The calcium allows it to be absorbed by your body. I put it in my cranberry juice in the evening and when I wake up my body evacuates comfortably and I feel great the rest of the day. Adds a nice flavor and a bit of fizziness to the juice. I look forward to crawling into bed with my juice and a book every night. I think it even helps me sleep.

When I was pregnant with my daughter six years ago, I started getting heart palpitations. The doctors said it was common in pregnancy but then they never went away afterwards. I stumbled onto this because my doctor suggested I take it to help with my lower than average blood pressure. I'm not positive it helped my low blood pressure but my heart palpitations went away! I drink a glass with one scoop every day with dinner. I've been doing this for about 4 years now. The flavor is a little unusual at first, but now that I'm used to it I rather like it. It is sort of fizzy with a light citrus flavor. If for some reason I miss a day or two, the heart palpitations start to come back, so I positive this is what is fixing them. I am thrilled I found something natural that fixed the issue. As an added bonus, Cal-Mag Citrate is often used to help keep people's bowels regular too and I've noticed this benefit also. I just wanted to share in case anyone else is struggling with something similar.

My endocrinologist recommended I take magnesium as I was low and cramping almost 4x a week. This brand was highly recommended and it did help reduce my cramping to about 2x a week after about 12 days but I had to stop taking it. Magnesium is so hard on the digestion that it gave me intestinal discomfort and the runs daily. I had to choose to have either diarrhea or cramping. (My doctor has since suggested I instead take magnesium glycinate or malate which are far easier on the digestion. )

This Magnesium powder is the best one I've ever found. My system works SO much better with it. I don't know if Thorne has discontinued it or if Amazon stopped carrying it - either way, please bring it back!

Tried another brand and it was terrible! Why was this discontinued?? It was awesome as I can’t take giant calcium pills and other brand powders don’t actually dissolve in the water. Please bring this back!

I had been in taking this for years. The powder dissolved easily and included three major components for bone health. I haven’t found a viable replacement since it has been discontinued. Please bring it back!

I really like the Thorne Research brand for supplements, but not for calcium & magnesium citrate powder. I previously bought this supplement by NOW Foods, and I would mix it in with hot cocoa with no problem. It tasted great and I even preferred hot cocoa with it than without. But this brand is too sour for that. The wider opening made this container a lot messier than the one for NOW Foods (although it does come with a scoop inside, if you like that, but a serving size is a heaping scoop, which is not very exact). The seal under the cap left a lot of paper flakes that stuck to the rim, which is messy and annoys me, and trying to peel them off made me uncertain if any fell into the product because they look exactly the same.
