Arrived a bit late but quality is super

Installed this brushed steel light switch in the hallway and it looks really nice - modern and clean with a smooth finish. The rounded edges give it a softer look that blends well with the rest of the decor. Feels solid when switching. Works perfectly with the existing wiring and was easy to fit.

Look very nice in our kitchen

Works very well and easy to fit, the switch action feels seamless and doesn't require much force to trip over and the terminals at the rear give a secure, and well contained power cables. It can be arranged wither to control 2 separate lights, or to control single lights form multiple locations- such as stairwells.MAterial choices are good, the inner plastic behind the stell cover being translucent, whilst the swich gear was of good quality with recessed/captive terminal screws.The exterior brush effect is well done, however it's good that it's normally placed at eye-;level and the brush effect at the curved edges are a little variable, looking like blemishes as the light catches some areas in different way- normally it may not be noticeable, but it did detract from the image initially.Note the screws supplied are quite small, firstly to keep in style with the switch face, but also as it's designed for thin backing boxes, you may need to find other longer electrical screws if you have larger back boxes, which may not be so immediately matching style and the originals.However once up, it looks good and with the surface protective lacquer should look good for a long time As with all electrics, if you aren't confident- get someone who is, it wasn't difficult to replace the existing switches, but safety is the key.

Bit fiddly to fit but looks great

We have similar switches in our new home, though I haven't looked at the brand. I hadn't heard of British General or AMK, but research shows me BG is a brand available thorough popular retailers. The feel and Certs ID moulded into the product give confidence that is it genuine. Swapped this in to replace an old white plastic switch in the hallway, and the difference is surprisingly noticeable. The brushed steel has a really smart, modern look without being too flashy – gives a subtle upgrade feel. What I liked most is that it was really easy to fit – even if you’re not a seasoned DIY-er, as long as you turn off the power and take your time, it’s straightforward. The switch itself clicks nicely – it feels sturdy and not loose or cheap like some budget options. Been in for a few weeks now and no issues at all. It’s one of those little upgrades that makes a big difference in how polished the space feels.
