Exactly what you want them to be. I personally used these for conventions/markets and these are great for displays. Often times you need to adapt to different sizes and locations of space when vending, so these make it easier to be adaptable. They're great at adding height to your displays as well. You can make a whole wall for hanging things if you need. I wouldn't personally use them in my house as they're more of a temporary object but I imagine they would work well for storage just as they do when vending. Overall if you vend and are on the fence about cubing up, cube up already. It's very difficult to maintain unique display pieces (especially if you're travelling longer distances), I would recommend starting with cubes and moving up from there. I say that from experience.

After receiving the first order without the connectors, mallet, instructions and hanger I returned it and received an exchange order that included everything. Therefore the 4 stars. The description says it will make 16 cubes but only if you construct one of their patterns. For my need I made 10 cubes (5 across and 2 high) and a separate 4 cubes (2 by 2). I had left over shelves and no connectors. I then ordered another set of 16 cubes set to finish another 10 cubes (5x2) and added to my previous 4 cubes to make an 8 cube (4x2) and had additional left over shelves and no connectors. Now that I have completed my project each set is now on sale for $25 less!

Easy to install. About more sturdy than I thought. We purchased two of these and didn’t realize how strong they were when put together. First one is in the Boss’ office with her addiction items from Disney. Second one is going in the laundry room to house cleaning supplies. Great size, fits many things that we had in the garage or cupboards before.

Very solid once assembled and lightweight. I was expecting the fill material to be solid but it’s just sheets of plastic, not that I mind. I see why they gave me a lil hammer. Had to beat the hell out of the joinery points to make sure everything was snug and locked in (it’ll make a clicking sound when it’s locked in). I bought mine used but it still works like new. The modularity allows you to make it any shape you really want. With some finesse you could make it wrap around a room corner with no problem. For construction, I’d recommend deciding on the shape of the base first before going upward. It’s dope!
