NeoLucida Deluxe Kit - A modern camera lucida drawing tool kit

Not sure how to answer, but the "fun" comes from creating art. The Neo Lucida just makes the process easier.

This is truly amazing. A game changer when it comes to putting pen to paper.

Can work well if observer and object are alined and object well lighted.

I’ve never been an artist but come to find out neither was many popular ancient artists whom used this same (not as high tech) device!Ever wonder where that scientist (I forget his name) figured out how to split light with a prism?Also, many of historical artists used these devices. I had no idea!!

Who ever designed this particular product should be fired where they stand. It is as frustrating as it is useless. It made be angry to get it together, let alone starting to draw using it. The XL eye piece is made of flimsy plastic that doesn’t click into place. It flops around. There are full openings on the sides for light to bleed through. Can’t imagine having a good visual on a bright day outdoors. In a very controlled environment of my home, I was unable to get it going. I was not even outdoors yet. I am going to return it. I will either look for a better alternative, or make my own.

Item is exactly as advertised i cant wait to learn hoe to use it proficiently

it was difficult to scale to a different size. use would have been too limited. I am returning this item and looking for another solution.

A very cool way to accurately draw/sketch.

I am fascinated by the equipment past artists used before photography. The fact this came from an American source could have been problematic. Amazon made this so simple to purchase. It was quick and I am learning how-to use it. Not there yet.

Ich hatte mir das einfacher vorgestellt.Meine ersten Versuche ergaben leider bei weitem nicht das erwartete Ergebnis, obwohl ich eigentlich mal "Künstler" gewesen bin. - Ich denke, ich werde in Zukunft lieber wieder Freihand zeichnen.

I am new to Watercolour painting so I thought this would give me a good start to precise forms of the subject/s. It is very easy to install, just follow the instructions on the pamphlet. But before you buy, please research because with this product, you will need to manipulate the object so you can fill your paper. In this case, I used 9X12 Watercolour paper and it won’t fill the entire page (photo reference). You need to practice enlarging a photo. So imagine if you have an object to draw, you need to consider size and placement of the subject. I still like it, I will play around and see what more it can do.
