Draper 54221 Chisel Point Digging Bar

I bought this tool to help with the removal of some bamboo from a 14meter patio container that runs along my boundary wall. The bamboo roots and rhizomes had matted up solid over the 15years they've been growing there, and after the front boundary bricks had been removed you could see that they occupied the entire basin 50cm deep and 30cm wide.This tool in combination with the matlock I bought at the same time was a really game changer. A 2 man crew with a digger had spent best part of 10h, and had managed half. On my own, I nailed arguably the difficult half in 5hours over the bank holiday. Using the flat edge to break the rhizomes and then the spike to lever and snap them worked a treat.It does get heavy to use after a while, but it's weight is was drives it deep into the soil. Recommended.

Solid good tool

Heavy duty bar, good for smashing through shellet. Helpdull when digging up crocosmia roots.

I needed to dig post holes through flint and clay. This tool is ideal for smashing flint. You will need a post hole digger to remove the smashed rocks and dirt from the hole.

The garden in stoney areas easy to use practical

Great weight to length ratio. I used it to break up concrete around existing post holes with no problem.
