Refreshed Switch
This new housing is great quality and I love the new refreshed look it gave my switch! It brings back old memories of when I have the Gameboy color with this style. The only issue I ran into was on my old case I had a broken stand/ sd card cover so I had to leave the new one off. But that isn't because of this, it's due to me. The joycons are a little time consuming to do but if you take your time they will turn out good. The actual housing of the switch was super simple and was 6 screws. In total it took us about 3 hours taking our time to replace it. I highly recommend this case for anyone wanting to give their switch a new look.

Great looks and high quality
I’d never heard of this brand before, so I was a little trepidatious going in. I was very impressed with the overall fit and finish. The plastic is of high quality and feels durable, and the molds used are precise with close to OEM tolerances. There’s not a lot of overflash on the seams, so no sharp edges that would make it uncomfortable to use. I like that they include a set of all the screws and springs you’ll need, as I definitely lost one of the springs that braces a trigger while doing the swap. Installation is time consuming, but if you take your time and pay attention to the instructions, you won’t have problems. I recommend also checking out iFixit for some additional resources. As for gripes, there aren’t many, but chief among them is that the plastic where the screws go into is a little soft. Be sure to not over torque any screws as a result, stop tightening right when you feel a little resistance. I also wish it had come with replacements for the thin black shrouds around the joysticks, but I was able to harvest those from the old joycons.

Nice and unique
I recently purchased the eXtremeRate DIY Replacement Shell Buttons for Nintendo Switch, specifically in the Clear Atomic Purple color, and I must say that I am incredibly pleased with the product. The replacement shell and buttons are of excellent quality, and they fit perfectly on my Nintendo Switch console and Joycon handheld controller. The clear atomic purple color gives my Switch a unique and eye-catching look, which I absolutely love. The installation process was straightforward, thanks to the easy-to-follow instructions provided by eXtremeRate. I was able to replace the shell and buttons without any issues, and it didn't take much time at all. The buttons themselves feel great to use, providing a satisfying click and responsive feedback. They have a nice texture, which enhances the overall gaming experience. One thing to note is that this product does not include any electronic parts, so it's important to keep that in mind before purchasing. However, if you're looking to give your Nintendo Switch a fresh new look and feel, the eXtremeRate DIY Replacement Shell Buttons are definitely worth considering. Overall, I highly recommend this product for anyone looking to customize their Nintendo Switch console.

Some minor nitpicks, but it's a really good kit
Bought this since some of my system's shell pieces were cracked. The replacement process was very easy for the Switch itself, and I appreciate that it came with a kickstand. However, the Joy-Cons were harder to swap the shells for - the cables need to be removed with a spudger, which didn't come with the kit. The included screwdrivers are nice, though. I lost two of the screws partway through the process, so I really appreciate that the kit came with so many extras. The result looks really nice, reminds me of my old Game Boy Advance. I kinda wish the gray buttons were a much lighter gray to match the GBA's button colors, but the colored buttons make it look a lot nicer so it doesn't matter as much. It's pretty nice that the face and D-pad buttons come in both colored and gray, so you can choose which one you want.

Good quality plastic, ease of installation, looks awesome (especially with a light under it)
This shell replacement is pretty awesome. Everyone that sees it asks if it's a factory shell, and I tell them no. The stand arm thing works as well as the factory one (which isn't well, but serviceable). Soft feel: No. It feels like an old GBA SP with that hard ABS plastic. Not sharp, doesn't cut your or hurt in anyway, but it is not coated in soft touch like the factory JoyCons are. That being said, no sharp edges, it doesn't feel like cheap bottom of the barrel plastic either. It feels quality, kind of like an upscale car interior, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac plastics, not Toyota, Scion, Honda, Chevy plastics. I hope that makes sense.

Beautiful, Fragile - great customer service
EDIT - ExtremeRate contacted me not long after I posted my review and offered to not only replace the back of my joycon shell, but to give me an entire new set of shells for both my joycons. ____ TL;DR, Housing looks great, right joycon has begun to fall apart after regular use for two months. Install is OK - take it slow! The housing feels nice and looks great, there's no question. For about two months, I had the coolest Switch on the block. I loved it to bits. Installing isn't all that bad, and the right joycon is the biggest hump. I had taken apart joycons before this but I wound up fat thumbing and breaking a ribbon cable for a bumper. A replacement was only 3 dollars (I took the button from my old joycons as a transplant in the meanwhile. Can't stress it enough, this housing looks awesome - I needed it the day it came). Sadly, this housing starts to show its wear much more quickly than your out of box joycons. After the first month of regular, non-intense use, my right joycon back cracked. Another few weeks, the plastic snapped right where the top left screw holds the joycon back down - again, on the right joycon. This made it unslot from my Switch periodically while playing and made both the bumper and the trigger difficult to press. Will happily change my review if I were able to recieve or even order a replacement right joycon back.

The perfect upgrade - Just beware of the included screws!
I am extremely happy with this kit. From the beginning the packaging surprised me. I was expecting it to come wrapped on plastic, but it came nicely packaged in a box. I bought this because I needed to replace my 8 year old battery and fan, so I decided to replace the shell while I had it apart. The back was simple enough with a few screws, but the Joycons took about 2 hours each (I also replaced the drifting joysticks with Hall Effect sticks). I didn't use the included tools because of the bad reviews I saw, which is a shame because the screwdriver handle is machined aluminum, but apparently the bits are too. Instead I used a cheap IFixIt knock off kit I purchased on Amazon years ago. The two tips you'll need are Y000 and a Phillips P000. I also didn't use the included screws, instead reusing the original screws. While the screws aren't marked , it's pretty easy to compare them sides by side with the original ones. At one point I did drop one of the screws and tried using an included screw for the Joycon shell, but I noticed that the screw was slightly too long and too wide, because I could see the plastic start to stress and turn white as I screwed it in. This probably won't be noticeable in solid colors, but stands out in translucent shells. It's not enough for me to take off a point, but definitely worth mentioning. You will also want a small plastic spudger to unclip the ribbons cables inside the Joycons. I think I paid less than $4 for a double-ended 10-pack with various ends. As for the shells themselves, they're are a perfect fit. I didn't use the included buttons except for SL/SR, but instead reused my black buttons and ordered a set of colored round buttons, also from ExtremeRate. One thing to note is that the buttons come on a runner like a model kit, and while they pop right off, sometimes they leave a little burr behind. This probably doesn't affect performance, but is easily filed or cut off with sandpaper, a hobby knife/nippers, or just a pair of nail clippers if that's all you have laying around. My biggest complaint about this whole process is their video tutorials. They include a QR code to their YouTube video which shows how to disassemble and reassemble the shells, but there is only music, no verbal instructions. I ended up finding a few other videos from YouTubers that went into more detail. Overall, none of these issues are big enough for me to knock off any points, so I give it 5 stars and recommend it to anyone eh wants to refresh their Switch.

Good kit, needs more tools though and instructions aren't great
Shell is great and exactly like the picture, however it doesn't come with all the tools you need (definitely get needle nose tweezers) and the instructions are just a YouTube video that is in real time which is nice, but I would've preferred a physical manual.

Stripped screws
Returned the item because the included screwdriver did a horrible job unscrewing the screws and stripped them.

Gave our switch a fresh look
The clear like green with black console go so hard 🔥 The screwdriver quality could be improved as it is easy to strip screws if you're not careful. The video on the YT channel is good enough as a guide, still you should be very organized to be able to put each screw back in its place. (I didn't use the spare screws or buttons that came in the set)

end result looks better than i expected!
a bit of a finicky job especially as someone who has extremely shaky hands all the time. but i love how everything came out in the end. very high quality and only had a few slip-ups that were just my own mistake when reassembling everything in my joycon again. nothing to even do with what i actually purchased just my own little mistakes lol. buttons feel good and so do the joycons themselves! definitely will be purchasing from again for more modifications to my other controllers and switch dock! if you’re not familiar with doing anything like this i 100% recommend using a tutorial to guide with you. even IF you think you know. it’s still best to have it there to give you a little helping hand. i personally didn’t use the guide provided with QR code i presume. but any guide is helpful either way. just find one that you like and get to work! it comes with spare screws. springs and a screwdriver! everything you need.
