Amazing bang for the buck
Overview- excellent little scantool I have been looking for an additional, small, basic scantool to add to my toolbox for a while. I already have a Launch X431 Pro V+ 4.0, and decided to give this little, more basic x431 a shot. I am SO glad that I did. For context, I am a ford technician, but I work on everything. I received this scantool about 3 days before it’s estimated arrival date, so good on that. I opened the box to find the scantool in its own little black pouch, which is nice. The OBD cable needs to be attached to the scantool- no Bluetooth here. I powered the tool up and connected a USB-C cable to charge it, and found it was at 88% charge. Connecting to WiFi is easy, and I ran the updates available. After it was ready, I went to a superduty just to see what this thing does. Upon plugging into the DLC, the scantool automatically detects the VIN- no button pushing necessary. You can do a full scan, then select any module you want to go deeper into. This scantool will display codes and give you access to ANY module in the truck that’s communicating, I got a c1001 and a b115e from APIM and BCM, respectively. I went into pcm to check some basic stuff. Data logger can display 4 pids at once, but you have access to 98% of the pids that IDS/FDRS has. Pulling up fuel tail desired and actual pressure, low side pressure and voltage revealed the graphs respond quickly to actual vehicle readings. The setup is VERY similar to my much more expensive 4.0+, which I love. I decided to look around… and this thing has power balance. A $250 scantool had freakin power banalce. And relative compression. And scr leak test, dosing test, manual regen, IQA programming, WOW! I wasn’t expecting this thing to be as in depth as it is for this price range. Even if I just use this for regens, it’s going to pay for itself in no time. I ran power balance, which indicated no concerns (this vehicle is in fora fuel leak, so I wasn’t expecting any). I ran relative compression, and it shows 0% across the board, as it should. I have a Tahoe in my bay and I went ahead and hooked to it as well. Same deal- automatic detection, full system scan detected multiple low voltage dtcs, as well as faults in EBCM and BCM. I pulled up tire pressure and realized one thing I forgot to do- change unit measurements to imperial. No biggie, it’s an easy change in settings. I’ll update as I get different vehicles in, but right out of the gate I’d give this thing 10 stars if I could. It’s a $250 tool that blows my Innova and Actron scantools in the same range out of the water. This thing has a place in any technicians tool box, highly recommend it!

Super impressed! [Launch Creader Elite 2.0]
First a short intro to myself. I have been a mechanic in some capacity for over 30 years. I was ASE master certified and a lead technician. I am retired from that field but still do some moonlighting when I feel like it. My plan for this tool is to use it at home for personal projects. I wasn’t expecting much out of this scanner for the price but to get right to the point, I was very impressed at some of the capabilities after getting to know the tool. I would definitely recommend this tool to a professional homeowner or even a new mechanic that is just starting out. I have currently tested this tool on Ford, Jeep, and GM vehicles. The overall best thing about this tool for an amateur mechanic is that the updates are completely free forever. That is hundreds of dollars in savings per year. There is a “Mall” of purchases on this tool but many are included, you just need to go through all the menus for your vehicle to find the test or reset you need. This tool has everything I have needed for US domestic vehicles. Some foreign cars are missing and I included photos so you can see for yourself. Let’s get right to the things that impressed me by starting with the VIN auto scan. When I plug the tool in, it automatically scans and recognizes the vehicle without any user input. You just confirm the finding and start using the tool. The next thing that impressed me is the bi-directional control. I used this on my 2023 Chevy Duramax. I was able to perform a forced DPF regeneration, see injector balance rates, TPMS relearn, as well as perform many other actuation tests. I was also able to confirm a bad headlight bulb in my 2021 Jeep Wrangler and rule out a faulty, relay or wiring. This tool does have FCA AutoAuth capability. I tried using it with a 12+8 bypass cable and I figured out, with the help of support, that all the tests are available under normal mode, even though the tool warns that it’s not available. The build quality is really good. It is definitely rugged and could handle a drop without an issue. It is claimed to be waterproof although it does have some cut outs for the beeper and ventilation. I am assuming they have accounted for that. The charging is USB-C which is great to see. This tool also charges over the OBD connector and that should help keep it charged anytime you’re ready to use it. I did not realize this is a touchscreen. The buttons led me to believe it was not but it is capable and works very well even with touchscreen gloves on. I was impressed at the speed of this tool for the price. Most cheap tools are very slow to respond, but this one is not. There is also the ability to export diagnostics and reports via email. That’s really nice for sending to yourself to research on the computer later or send to a friend for their vehicle. There is a built-in web browser that can be popped up for the specific codes you have. There seems to be no speaker to be able to play videos in the browser but the ability to read articles directly on the tool is pretty handy. This does obviously need an Internet connection to work. I just use the hotspot on my phone. I wish the tool would auto connect to known networks instead of needing to select the manually. If I were going to nitpick this tool to find some things that I would change. I wish there was a way to hook the tool over the steering wheel. The bend that is formed into the OBD cable works OK but that preformed bend probably won’t stay there forever. In general, this is a pretty small issue. If you read this all the way the end and it helped you out, please let Amazon know it was helpful also by hitting the button.

Great DIY Scanner
This scanner has save my a major headache. P0300 Code on 2103 2500HD. Tracked it down to a Cam Sensor relearning which I was able to accomplish with scanner. Functionality took some time to master but watching demo helped. GREAT MACHINE FOR THE PRICE.

This worked great for me!
I used this on my son's car after updating it. The car was sluggish and not shifting correctly. Right from the point where I scanned and checked live data, it ran better. Resetting modules did the rest as someone threw the "parts cannon" at this car and did not reset things. So, it worked perfectly and the ability to activate solenoids and such was a plus. It does not cover all makes and models and there is a market place to purchase the use of some others, but we will cross that bridge if need be. For what I paid for it, it would have cost me more for a diagnostic at the dealership, and it took care of the issue. Now I have a scan tool as the bonus!

Dead within days. No support.
Worked a couple of times, then no longer would start up. Tried US support for weeks, then Chinese support for months. No response. Steer clear.
