Olympia Tools 38-604 Bench Vise, Workshop Series, 4-Inch, gray

I’d long been in search of a decent, heavy duty bench vise & Olympia Tools provided exactly what I’d been looking for: heavy duty, swivels, ‘locks-up’ evenly, about HALF the cost($26!) of other Sellers, looks to be equivalent to Workpros’ bench-vise ($50+). Has 4 holes in base to bolt & secure to work bench/table top. WORTH IT, I’d definitely buy again.

Quality is OK, but you would be hard pressed to find advice for the same price literally anywhere else. I bet you couldn’t find a used one for $1. very easy to install, very versatile. Can basically use it one handed.

Vice works well. I am using it indoors for lock sport so not heavy use and works for this. I 3D printed some magnetic soft jaws to not mar up the locks I practice picking. I am only giving it four stars because I had to spend some time cleaning the grease off it that was all over it. It did not cost much so overall I am happy with the purchase.

This is a great, smaller vice for around the home fixit projects. Well made, sturdy. Would absolutely purchase again and recommend to my friends. To the reviewers who are not happy with this great $25 vice—spend $200 more dollars and quit whining.

What can I say it works and does what it should. Easy to mount on 2 - 2x6 boards to clamp to table since I don’t have a work bench. Worked out great.

Its okay. I wasn't able to tighten it down hard enough to prevent it from spinning when applying rotational force, but it can't spin 360 so you'll at least hit the end. I changed the mounting position so the end point was where I needed it to be, but then its a problem if I need to go the other direction. The mounting plate is not yellow as shown in the pics, its just all gray which is fine. My biggest complaint is that the screw-on bar-end that prevents the bar from falling out is poorly made and can just be pulled off. It keeps falling off and the bar falls out. I will probably either glue it or solder it on permanently.

Light duty but strong enough for sharpening lawn mower blades and other homeowner tasks.

I have had my Olympia 605 for a while now and I have to say that it is really nice for the price. There are some mixed reviews on it but, frankly, those people seem to have had expectations that were bigger than their budget. The vise has a great hammer tone finish. Nice anvil top and horn, it is great for my purposes. The opening and closing motions are smooth with very little "wobble". The base rotates smoothly and clamps down tightly in place. I can't imagine having a problem with this vise unless somebody were to really abuse it. I bought mine for clock repair and other tinkering projects, and I think it would probably be great for gunsmithing too. It's not really enough vise for some of the heavier work an auto mechanic might do, and I think some of the lower reviews here come from people trying to use it for that. As a side note, this vise is way nicer than comparable Harbor Freight units for less money.

En realidad lo uso para trabajos caseros donde no se necesita usar presiones muy fuertes y objetos muy pesados. Se ve realmente resistente y fácil de maniobrar. Lo recomiendo para usos caseros y talacha. Buena relación calidad- precio.

Comprei a morsa 38-604 por R$150, esperando que fosse uma morsa fabricada na China, como indicado nas avaliações internacionais. No entanto, recebi uma morsa feita na Índia, e o produto apresenta um acabamento muito inferior em comparação com as fotos e o vídeo de apresentação. molde de fundição muito mal feito os mordentes parecem ser de aço reciclado e mal usinados. Além disso, o fuso tem imperfeições de desgastes mesmo sendo novo. Um ponto adicional é que a embalagem do produto informa sobre a presença de uma substância química capaz de causar câncer e malformações congênitas, porém essa informação não constava no anúncio. Com base nesses problemas, não recomendo este produto nem mesmo por menos de R$150. Sugiro considerar a possibilidade de adquirir uma morsa da marca Marcon ou alguma outra marca tradicional no Brasil.

This is a quality heavy duty vise that will preform very well for any job whether you are a D.I.Y. or professional.

strong and good. I've had this for more than a year of fairly tough use now and it continues to give good service.
