Radiometer Classic Style Individually Handcrafted with Borosilicate Glass

I gave this as a gift to my husband. He loves it and it has sparked the scientist in him. This is a neat science gift that is simply awesome to watch. He has it displayed on his desk and it is eye catching and beautifully handcrafted. To me it looks like a delicate piece of art or a collectible item. The color distinguishes this model from all others I have seen. It came well packaged and protected in thick molded styrofoam, inside a white cardboard box. It arrived in just two days.

Dad gave me a radiometer when I was an early teen and it was broken a couple years ago. It was nice finding them on Amazon.com. The coloring in this one is very nice. We have had very little sunshine since it arrived, but it works famously. My tactical Surefire Defender light is like steroids for the spinner. Thank you for this item.

Fun little piece of science.

I like everything about the Radiometer. I love the glass color and when it spins it is mesmerizing.I would definately recommend this to anyone at any age. I am 68 and have 2 of these from years past and they still work great.I am going to purchase a few more of this one for gifts.

well made item visitors like the appearance. it spins freely when shaken but wont spin when exposed to magnetics. uv a and uv b. sunlight. or white light.

This is very pretty but....The stem that the vanes spin on is loose and moves while the vanes are spinning. The craftsmanship of the vanes are not very good. Seriously how hard can this be. Sloppy paint job and they are not straight and tru with each other plus they are out of balance which affects how fast it spins. The vanes wobble when spinning. Its a shame you would pay this much for something like this but my advice is to spend another $20 for one that has good reviews. I thought I would take a chance and hoped that I got a good one. I wish I would have taken my own advice. Im not very happy with my purchase.

It is the most handsome of radiometers, but only works in the most intense direct sunlight. The reflectors are off balance and look to be hand made (not the hands of a craftsman). I have another one that looks like the ones we had in 5th grade science class, and it runs on hazy days, and in diffused light conditions. How this one arrived undamaged I will never know as it arrived in a small foam packed box, but I digress. It is very pleasing to look at and runs on occasion. What else you want for the money?

Great addition to the windosill. Packaging was sturdy, no risk of damage in transit. Much better than a pure clear glass version, as the colored glass ups the aesthetic value of the item. Highly recommend this as a gift.
