Arrived quickly. Easy to install and works great

I have two one on the machine, and one when I need to change out quick when something goes wrong.

Bought this a while back in January as a back up. Had to open it up to find not only the hot end snapped off and missing, but even the jst cable clip to power the hot end missing. If you are just getting an extra one for back up, make sure to open it up and double check. I'm guessing i got a returned item, even tho I bought a new item

I spent the beginning of my 3d printing career buying $175 Makebot extruders on a regular basis, so this feels like a great deal. I've done tons of printing and am on my two neptune printers, and am on 3rd replacement across two printers. I 3d print prototypes professionally, They're cheap enough that for me it makes sense to just keep a spare rather than spend engineering time trying to fix a messed up one. Great product. The low cost means I can keep a spare on hand, and the quick changeout time means even a total extruder failure means almost no down time.

I needed to replace my original extruder for reasons not worth mentioning. The only reason I did not give this extruder 5 stars is because the nozzle would not come loose when I tried to replace it with a better nozzle. I tried before using the extruder the first time, so it had never been heated or had filament in it. Ended up leaving the nozzle it came with in it. Have been using it for hundreds of hours with no problem.

After a year, my extruder was having all sort of issues. I thought it was a heat creep issue, but it wasn't. I basically decided to stop messing around and just replaced the entire extruder. The new extruder prints great and it feels like a new printer again. Installation was simple, it's pretty much plug and play. Just re-adjust your z-index. Oh, that orange stuff is probably residue from the factory, so you'll need to obviously do a test load of your filament to get rid of it. It took several inches of filament to get rid of the color. So no, it wasn't a "used" extruder like that other reviewer assumed.

Extruder gearbox failed in my original factory extruder head, forcing me to purchase this as a replacement while I repair the original. That was almost 4 months ago now, and it's working far better than the original ever did. I have the original repaired and am now saving it as an emergency backup in the event this one ever fails.

Got myself a spare so I can add a 0.6mm nozzle switch for quicker prints. Works perfectly, really happy with Elegoo overall.
