I used to worry that using any charger for my macbook that was not an Apple charger would ruin the battery.So far so good. And this has cleared up a ton of space and cables on my desk. If only I can get rid of the rest of the junk on it now lol

This is a horrible docking station.Monitors randomly turn on and off, mouse, keyboard, and headphones randomly stop working, other times the whole thing just decides it does not want to work, so you have to reboot your whole computer, and even then it does not come back and you have to keep rebooting your PC.

I am very disappointed but don't want to give less than 4 stars because I don't know if the dock is causing the issue or if it is something else.I have three Dell U2723QE monitors connected to this dock with USB C and only two will work at a time. I've tried using USB C to Thunderbolt cables on all three instead and it is the same result. I tried Kensington support and Apple support and neither of them could give me any ideas that worked. The screens are 4k 60hz but they still don't work at lower settings.The only way I am able to get my three screens to work with this dock and the MacBook Pro M4 Max is to have one of the screens plugged directly into the Mac. Somewhat defeats the purpose of the dock and I could have done that with one that costs half as much.I'm hoping a firmware update or something comes out to resolve this issue but for now it is about a 3 star product. I just didn't want to do that and then forget to change the review if they resolve this issue, so I'm going with 4 for now.If you have a solution for my issue, please let me know.

I just set this up to connect to dual Dell 1440p, 27" monitors. One is connected to the dock with a display port cable, the other with HDMI. Also plugged in is a USB A keyboard, wireless mouse, and direct Ethernet cable.When I connected my (approx '22-'23) Windows Dell Latitude laptop to it via the included USB-C/TB4 cable, it worked without issue right away. Then came time to test a Macbook Pro with M1 Pro Chip (2021). Initially, the monitors acted like it got a signal, but there was nothing showing up on them and they eventually went to sleep. I went into the display options and saw the the Macbook had recognized the monitor. I had to switch the refresh rate down to 60 HZ. Then both monitors turned on, but were mirroring each other (effectively I had an A-B-B monitor setup instead of the claimed A-B-C, where A is the laptop, and the other two are extension monitors).After searching, asking chatGPT, etc... I had almost given up, when I decided to search for the previous model (5700) after doing a more broad search about Kensington and Apple products, and luckily came across a reddit post. They indicated they had a similar problem, and that Kensington support told them they needed to unplug everything, the plug back in in the following order: 1. Power 2. USB C to computer 3. Displays and other peripherals. As soon as I did that it worked and behaved as "A-B-C" extensions. Yay! The poster indicated that did something with bandwidth prioritization within the dock.In any case, it worked. I then unplugged my Macbook, then retried the Windows, then back to the Macbook and the screen extension settings worked as they had been, no need to reset.So ultimately I'd give this a 4.5 stars for that (based on the reddit post, this has been a known issue since the previous version of the product in 2023, writing this at the end of 2024), but because it doesn't require any other software to run (it is "natively compatible" as the documentation states), I'm happy and will round up to a 5.

I recently upgraded to a new M4 Pro MBP with TB5, so wanted a dock that would match and fully enable this new capability. The Kensington was a perfect fit. I also bought some new cables that support USB-C to HDMI (my previous dock had built-in HDMI ports) and got ones that would support 8K displays (prepping for the future). I didn't expect it to be so easy, I:1) Removed DisplayLink from the Mac (which my previous dock required to support 2 displays)2) Powered down3) Hooked everything up with the new dock, including my TB4 backup device, the 2 displays, and some other USB gear.4) Powered up - told the Mac to allow the new accessory - and it just worked! Perfect, right out of the box as one would expect - except I've learned not to expect that from the higher end of the TB world.So I couldn't be happier. Also, the network interface is now connected at 2.5 gigabits, and as I now do a large file transfer between a local SSD and one on the network (a Synology RAID), it's transferring 260 GB in about 45 minutes, much faster than what I was getting before.Well worth it if you have use cases similar to mine.
