Love This Laptop - But Not Perfect for Everyone
I don't have too much to say about it. It runs about as well as my PC at home, if not better.I've used it to play AAA titles and MMOs in the late evening while on trips out of town, to do work for college, coding & my job. It's a great laptop.A few things to consider. While the numpad that's build into the touchpad is neat at first... it's just a nuisance when your catch your hand on it while gaming & then you're hitting random buttons on accident. Also, the resolution isn't 16:9, it is 16:10. You're going to have issues getting the full screen to be filled for some games & you're going to lose 1-2 inches of screen to black-bars in games such as Elden Ring. However, I feel like the 16:10 resolution provides for a more compact laptop shape. I have a 16:9 laptop & it feels so lopsided to use or carry around. This one feels great. Plus you have more vertical space for say, writing a program in VSCode or the like. So it's a bit of a give & take there.PSA - I'm told ASUS customer service is horrible these days. If you have any issues with your laptop, please be warned you might be best off seeking other routes for repairs. Even if you are in warranty. There's plenty of videos on Youtube about it. Gamers Nexus is the one that alerted me to the potential issue.

Cannot use HDR even with Nebula OLED Screen unless using specific app from Microsoft Store
I almost never write reviews becuase normally the products work as described. This laptop was an aboslute nightmare, I spent probably 25 hours over 3 days trying to figure out how to enable HDR for the Nebula OLED screen and RTX 4070 I spent a lot of money for.You CANNOT enable HDR in Windows 11 - the slider is greyed out. No matter what changes you make in NVidia Control panel, the ASUS software, the MUX switch or anything else, you cannot enable HDR or Dolby Vision. The only possible way is to use a specific "app" in the MS Store, and even then it does not truly work. Supposedly in some games you can select HDR but if Windows itself is stuck in 8-Bit sRBG mode, the game does not override it. I tried using the expanded color palettes (DCI-P) and two other wide gamut settings in the ASUS program, but none would allow you to turn on HDR.It feels like this entire laptop is just a scam, or maybe ASUS plans to update it in the future, but sorry I'm not paying $2000 for a laptop that *might* someday do what it claims to do now. I tired a dozen different videos from HDR, HDR10, HDR10+ or Dolby Vision and not a single one sent the HDR palette from the laptop to my LG CX OLED TV, which will tell you when it recognized and switches to a larger gamut setting. There's a worthless Dolby Vision application pre-installed and of course it will not do anything helpful.IIRC the only way to get DV to work is if you're streaming video from a MS Store approved app (Netflix). Any locally stored videos are stuck running SDR.I've been building my computers since the mid 90's so I know what I'm doing - which was returning this within 3 days (after spending close to 20 hours researching and reading forums). It simply does not make sense to sell an HDR/DoVi capable screen and video card, but then completely disable the HDR setting in W11. I really

Worthy device if money's not that big of a problem!
I love the fact that the laptop has a desktop-level processor along with a 4060 driver to unleash its potential (Although 4060 is bare minimum for gaming in today's market). I love the flashiness (USP of ROGs) and opted for an ROG as I had one before (Strix Hero 2) and the compliments I got along with my usage experience has been top-notch - Decided my next rig should be a ROG device as well and well, here I am with the new one! Oh, and the display, ROGs display has been one of the best I've come across and this rig with its 240Hz WQXGA display is stunning! The only reason I'd mark it down by a star is for the logo being engraved and not supporting RGB and the trackpad on a high-priced device not getting the numpad feature. Numpad and RGB logo is something I'd miss from my Hero 2!But overall, a nice and much awaited update! I am happy with the purchase and I'd say, if you need a laptop which is amazing for its use case, has an amazing quality and great design that could turn heads (trust me, this is one of the reason I stick with the ROG), this is a fabulous device you could spend on.

This thing is powerful. Definitely gets hot, so I'd recommend a cooling pad. Performs better than my desktop (3070ti, ryzen 7 3700x). Haven't seen any info on whether or not it has an additional m.2 slot, so I'd like to know that before cracking it open (did so on my 2022 version). Tampering with Armorycrate and power saving settings allows me to get a good 6+ hours of battery life, totally serviceable for school use though I keep the power cord and a battery bank close at hand anyway. Somewhat annoyed by the lack of USB A connectors, there's only 2. There are 2 USB C connectors which is nice, but I don't have anything to leverage those at the moment. I preferred having the ports on the back rather than the sides as they now interfere with the workspace, but understand the sacrifice for cooling. Haven't run into any issues as of yet, a month after purchase. Very satisfied.
