Godzilla: The Encyclopedia

A fantastically fun book for fans! This encyclopaedia is absolutely loaded with information on the kaiju of Godzilla, and really approachable for young and older audiences alike. The illustrations are fun and attractive, too. Great for fans or even to help get younger audiences interested! My copy came a little dinged up on the corner, which is a shame, but it barely matters, just something to be aware of, it can happen due to the way it’s shipped.

Absolutely surprised at how good this is. There is some great all original art and nice attention to detail. It's rare to get Godzilla literature outside of Japan so this is a real treat for fans young and old. It is not a full comprehensive encyclopedia as it leaves out some Godzilla stuff like the Legendary movies and also doesn't include Minus One. This can be overlooked because what we get is a great book.

A few years back in the anticipation to Godzilla vs Kong I did a run through of every Godzilla movie ever! I even checked out the English dubs and alternate versions and I had a blast doing so. I learned a lot of the names of kaiju I hadn't seen before and just admired the charm of the now dated sfx of the older movies. It was also really cool to see how the designs of Godzilla himself and the other Kaiju changed over the years. This book covers the Showa, Heisei, Millenium and Anime movies and details every slight change in monster and suit design as well as giving an insight into how certain effects were achieved with puppetry and animatronics. The illustrations are beautiful and my son was hooked as soon as I opened it. My only gripes are that it only covers Japanese versions of Godzilla with Hanna Barbera and Legendary versions not present (98/Zilla makes an appearance in the Final Wars section) and it is only as up to date as the Singular Point Anime sadly missing out Minus One. Neither of those spoil what is a wonderful book and an absolute must have for Godzilla and Kaiju fans. I wish they did one for Gamera, Ultraman and the Legendary Monsterverse!

Fantastic.My 10 year old son couldn't be happier with it.

My son has gotten into Godzilla recently so when I found this book I knew he’d love it! It takes you through all the Godzilla designs from the original 1954 film through to the more recent Hollywood versions detailing the suits, a bit of plot and general facts. As well as Godzilla it covers all of his foes such as MechaGodzilla, Mothra and all the other classics. Unfortunately there is one drawing in the book of a topless cyborg woman which I don’t think was needed and might spoil it for younger readers. Luckily we looked through the book first and was able use a permanent marker to cover her. That aside a brilliant book!

This book is great, The drawings were impressive and covered all of Godzilla's best movies P.S. Don't open this book to page 75

Goes through all the characters in a humorous manner.

El libro es excelente y con grandes ilustraciones y explicaciones de cada etapa pero eviten comprar por Amazon México llegó con las páginas 16 y 14 rotas de las esquinas , además de que el libro está doblado del lado derecho superior y la parte trasera está dañada y rota

Ótimo livro. Imagens excelentes.
