1/700 Future Boy Conan Gigant

プラモ屋ではじめてこのパッケージを発見したときには、軽い感動と興奮をおぼえました。 アオシマというと同じ１／７００のウォーターラインシリーズでは伊４００が残念な出来だった記憶があります。 しかし、このキットはその後のアオシマの進化を十分に見せつけてくれました。 成型はもちろんモールドもよくできています。エアインテークのフィンの立ち上がりも手を抜いていません。 さらに垂直尾翼が外れる、離陸用ブースターエンジンも外れるという、放映時には目を見張ったあのシーンも再現できます。 ちょっと高いですが、この完成度とギミック、そしてギガントであることで納得できる価格です。 組み立ての注意点は、 １）マグネットは仮決めして接続部を調整する。 ２）マグネットはS/Nの極性があるので間違うとパーツが反発しあうことになる。 そんなところでしょうか。パーツ数も多くなくとっつきやすいモデルです。 次に塗装ですが、まずはネット動画でギガントのシーンを検索しました。 巨大なボディなので陰影をうまく付けることがサイズ感を表現するポイントのようです。 どこが暗くなっているか、どこにハイライトが当たっているか、という視点で見ます。 基本色はニュートラルグレイ＋シルバーと、影の部分はニュートラルグレイ＋ブラックで、まずは影の部分からエアブラシをしました。 ハイライト部はシルバーを混ぜたものになりますが、少しのつもりでもシルバーは色が強くでます。 ブラックをつぎ足して色を抑えて陰影の段階を付けようとしてもシルバーが邪魔をします。 結局４段階ほどに色を変えて吹き付けましたが、もっともよくスケール感が出たのは影部分のブラック強めのニュートラルグレイでした。 エアブラシを細めに吹いています。また、動画では羽根の中心部あたりまで広範囲にシャドーが付けられていたので、それを意識して吹いてみました。 ファルコですが、全部透明パーツで出来ています。 まずは、組み立てて窓部分をマスキング、サーフェイサーを吹いてからタミヤのエナメル塗料で筆塗りしました。 筆塗りだとマスキングの隙間に塗料が入り込んでしまうので面倒でした。

If this was only a bit bigger it would be possible to light it and it would be awesome. The level of detail and precision of the fit of nearly every piece is impressive. The magnetic connectors are idiotic, however. Just use normal model glue and use the magnets for something else. The magnets are too weak to hold their respective pieces in place and there's no need for them to be detachable. Plus they are soooo small that if you drop one you'll never find it again. Glue. Glue. Glue. Use Tamiya extra fine primer to preserve the level of detail. You don't want to flood all the panel lines. The clear plastic over-look thing that sticks out of the tail fin is very very difficult to see clearly, since it's clear plastic. It should be one piece, but since they split it into two halves it's hard to glue, even if you use the ultra clear canopy glue, you won't be able to sand the edges or see it well enough to paint it properly. Many people online have put it on upside down, and it even varies a bit in the original anime. Reference photos are few and far between. This is an obscure model but well worth the work. I just wish it were bigger.

全体の形状はかっこよくて良いです。ギガント だなあ、、と言う感じ。ですがパーツに問題点もあり、、なんでこういう作りなの？って言う感じです。レビューで他の方のおっしゃられているマイナス面に共感しています。しっかり作ろうと思ったら、削ったり、パテなどで埋めたりは必須となります。まあ、それも楽しいのかもしれませんが。。

Beh che dire....uno dei modellini più belli per un aereo iconico. Un po' piccolo ma bello
