Good bang for the buck.
So far ive used this successfully for standard bluray disc's with my computer utilizing make mkv. Only had one bluray that wouldn't read. I've also used this to read a micro sd car and a micro with the sd card adapter. That slot was very stiff to get the card in the first time but no issues after. The usb cord is pretty short and comes out the side of the case so expect to need the whole unit right next to a port. All in all for the price I am quite pleased, not the fastest drive but works well. Ive been sitting on a bunch of blurays because I misunderstood how these things worked and thought I needed a special drive.

Too good to be true.
Received this drive and it worked perfect out of the box. Connnected to mutliple computers, both PC and Mac. Read dvds and blue ray disks without issue. After just four months of light use, this drive has failed. It is not recognized by any device that it previously connected to and cannot read any disks.

Wow! I am impressed!
This is a great and affordable Blu-Ray DVD player/writer. It's very responsive and easily connected to my laptop with a variety of connection choices. I used CyberPower DVD player to watch my Blu-Ray DVDs, which they actually suggested in the instruction pamphlet. One nice thing was this now acted like a supported USB/micro/flash drive connection and I could access any additional plugged-in device. I used it with a portable hard drive, SD card and micro-SD card to see if it really did all that was advertised. I even burned a DVD with it. I had movies stored on an external drive and I searched through them (and any file on that drive) and not have to disconnect the player to connect the external drive. It has a low profile, and while the door is not automatic open and close, the operation is easy enough. I really like this unit and I can recommend it. Since it can play Blu-Ray and regular DVDs and burn both, I don't really need to use my other player/burner at all!

Works as expected, requires 3rd party software to actually play blu-ray discs.
It works as expected, im only using it to actually play my blu-ray disc's, not to rip or write discs. you'll need to get a program like MakeMKV or Leawo Blu-Ray player to use it, or at least I did which is what I expected. The only reason I deducted a star was because the screw inside the case that held the actual disc drive inside it was loose and cause the drive to fall out. I had to open up the case and fit the screw on the lip it is supposed to be behind and tighten it to get it working properly as it was not connecting to the internal sata and power connections within the case, definitely something that should not have made it passed quality control but it was easily fixable if you have a small enough screwdriver for the tiny screws you need to remove to open the case. I also wish the usb cables were a bit longer as they are pretty short, about a 12 inches or so long.

Effortless installation, just plug and play, no drivers, etc., to fool with!
I recently purchased a Dell 15 inch laptop but it does not have a DVD drive, which I do need on occasion, and it is skimpy with just 3 USB and 1 Type C ports (most of the time it "acts" as a desktop with external keyboard, mouse, and monitor which take up 2 of its 3 USB ports. Thus, I have been in the market for an external DVD/CD drive and this 7 in 1 External Blu-ray Drive grabbed my attention with its impressive capabilities coupled with its 2 USB 3.0 ports, 2 Type C ports, 1 SD card slot, 1 TF card slot, so I decided to buy it. Set up took like 5 seconds - just plug into either a USB or a Type C port my laptop, and it was immediately recognized and ready for use. No drivers or anything else to install. I first put in an audio CD and it played the songs and I listened to the music over headphones connected to the USB 3.0 port on the player without having to use my last USB port on my laptop. Next I put in a wedding DVD and played MP4s and they looked great as I expected them to. My final test was to load software purchased on a DVD, namely TurboTax, because when I buy software, I prefer having it on a DVD versus a download. And that worked fine. This device has enormous capability with its Blue-ray 3D features and should perform well for anyone with those needs, but I do not presently have the need for those advanced features although I do like having that capability should the need ever arise. Bottom line, I'm very impressed with this 7 in 1 External Blu-ray Drive and believe it fills an important role next to my new laptop, and the price is VERY reasonable!

Very short usb connection
UPDATE October 7, 2024 - Unit stopped working. Power light not turning on - tried several different computers. I will not be buying this one again. This unit has some interesting additions with onboard 2 usb and 2 usb-c ports. Most bluray burners do not have this feature so this is a plus for limited usage / power requirement items. What is concerning is the actual usb / usb-c connection cable is very short and you'll need to plug in both the usb and usb-c connections to get the unit to work and there is not much cable on these so you'll need ports together on your computer/laptop for them to work. Luckily I did have such space. I am using my bluray burner as long term storage burns for files that don't need to be on a hard drive and the speed is slightly less than what I am used to with a double usb connection on a burner that I replaced that had gone belly up. Since this is purely an archival unit for me, the speed is not a deal breaker. I will report back on this on longevity but the overall unit seems nice enough though I do find the bluray drawer to be slightly hesitant to lock requiring multiple attempts. Right now it works. Not sure how durable this will stay.

Great performance in a portable drive.
Computers (laptops) don't come with drives anymore. I have never had a problem with performance. I have a VHS that will copy movies to a built-in DVD. I then transfer it to this DVD connected to a computer to digitize the home movies for sharing on YouTube, Plex Etc. Great price for portable usage on all of my various computers. The built-in hub for USB devices also works well for daisy chaining other equipment. I've had headphones hooked up through it and took calls through work without any interruptions.

DO NOT BUY.
Useless garbage. I curse anyone who had a hand in its creation. I have wrestled with getting this thing to work for MONTHS and at BEST it can play 20% of the discs it comes across. Hours and hours of effort wasted trying to get ANY kind of basic functionality out of this thing. The cord is also stupidly short and none of the USB/SD card reading slots ever worked at all.

More complicated than it looks
I think I bought something that is a little over my head. I was glad I found my old one when I was trying to file this one in the rt place. If you are just average or slightly less with computers, DO NOT BUY.

Defective item
The Blu-ray player is unable to read any of my Blu-ray and DVD discs. I tried everything to troubleshoot the issue but this issue still persists.
