There aren’t many options on a beginners how to knit kit on Amazon, as the majority of results were actually for crochet, so this seemed like my only option as an absolute beginner. The kit does contain the basics for learning to knit, but I think the idea could have been executed better. The kit itself: It contains a needle gauge, 4 balls of yarn, a wooden pair of 5mm needles and a metal pair, a scissors, some plastic needles, and a booklet. The booklet says that stitch markers should be included but I didn’t receive these, however, they are not mentioned on the Amazon listing so I’m not sure if I was supposed to receive these or not. The quality of the needles seem okay, the scissors is small and a little fiddly, and the yarn leaves a little to be desired. The yarn: My main gripe with this kit is the yarn. It is not suitable for beginners in my opinion. It’s too easy for you to put your needle through the yarn instead of through your loop, and it’s full of factory knots (pictured is one example) which makes it more difficult for beginners to navigate. It’s hard to see your stitches, and the yarn is prone to fraying. I think a thicker more solid yarn like T-shirt yarn would be better for beginners learning stitches as it would be easier to see your stitches. I thought the qr code on the back might lead you to instructional videos, but sadly it just takes you to their US Amazon storefront. Since the written instructions were basic and a little hard to follow, I had to look up my own tutorials on how to cast on, etc. Overall, I think buying this kit might be a waste of your time and money, and you could just buy or thrift a pair of needles and a ball of a more beginner friendly yarn and teach yourself from YouTube tutorials, and get the same results (if not better). Just poor design and not great value for money in my opinion.

I like the fact that it had everything you need in one pack. Squares or scarfs can be made. As far as I know she like it, but I live miles from her home and she doesn’t remember who I am.

Excellent Quality and very complete kit. Unfortunately this was for my young daughter who will be receiving some similar kit from the teacher who will teach her to knit and I was not aware of it, therefore i needed to return it. This item is very well priced, of good quality and carefully put together with what is needed for a beginner.
