Beautiful packaging. Not as sharp as expected.

This is my first set of Kamikoto knives. The knives came in a nice ash wood box.They feel balanced in the hand. The handles look well made.The first thing I tried was to cut a piece of paper to check its sharpness. Unfortunately, they were not as sharp as I expected.Beautiful to gift but time will tell if these are better than my Shun knives.

Exemplary craftsmanship!

I now have every set of Kamikoto's knives with one exception. The craftsmanship of the Kamikoto products is perfect! It's difficult for me to pick a favorite as of yet. My food prep time has become more efficient, precise, and also very enjoyable! I applaud the skilled craftsmen along with all at Kamikoto for their steadfast dedication in producing such a fine outstanding product!

Made in China

Very poor quality and brittle steel. Doesn’t take a decent edge on a stone. Also not made in Japan like advertised. This knife is made in China. I would not recommend this product.
