I wish one of the instructors I used would have provided something like this
Had the instructors I used provided something like this, they'd probably still be employed by me. The unstructured, unplanned lessons without asking the relevant questions led to my dropping them. If you're not 16, you have to ask yourself at some point "why am I even doing this?"First, let's address some other reviews... there is no religious propaganda in this book. I haven't read every word, but almost all of it, and nope. Nada.Second, this is not billed as providing songs/tablature, and alas, this is none. Nor did I expect any. What this is a similar system to Franklin Covey planners, only far less expensive. And, of course, guitar-focused.It's well laid out with the right questions that a person should be asking themselves and re-evaluating every three months. It has the right components for what a person should be doing weekly/daily, and there's one two-page sheet for every week of the year. So it's a planner. But you can also look back and see your journey; what you wanted to achieve and why. And most importantly, what you actually achieved. So it's a journal.I think I'm going to buy four more so I can look back five years from now and see if I met my long-range goals.

Great value for the money
This is a great tool for guitar practice! The author includes practice suggestions and explains what each section represents. There are 3 sections, a section for Exercises, a section for Learning and and section For Creating. There are even boxes for writing down the amount of time practiced each day and there is also a section for writing down focus points. The book is divided in quarters and there are a few goal questions asked before beginning of each new quarter such as (where do you see your playing in 5 years, what do you hope to accomplish in the next 12 months, what’s keeping you from making the progress you want, etc.). I do wish the boxes were bigger and wider but since this book is meant to be transported I understand why the scale is smaller, still worth the price in my opinion!

Great Journal
I never write reviews but felt I really should write one for this book. I took a chance in ordering it because the "Look Inside" feature wasn't available when I ordered it. Am so glad I did. The book is a one year entry journal detailing your goals and improvement so at the end of that one year you'll be able to measure your improvement.

Useless
Might as well buy a notebook. I was expecting some sort of guidance on what to practice. It left it up to me. So what is the point of this?It says "When you understand how to practice and what to practice, improvement isn’t only possible—it’s inevitable." There is none of that in this book. There is no what to practice or how just write down goals and such.

Evangelical Propaganda Book
This is not an actual journal. It is an evangelical religious propaganda book. There are only about 3-4 pages out of 158 that are an afterthought journal to be just legal. False advertising. Don't waste your money on this fraudulent thing. I'd give it a negative if I could. This is an extremely deceptive way of spreading religious diatribe. It took 2 minutes for me to request a return of my money. Anything from this author is more than likely the same.

Keeps practise sessions on track
I love this book, I have been taking guitar lessons for a year and since using this book my at home practise sessions are more focused and I am kept on track. My music teacher loves it as well---he stops the lesson 5 minutes early so we can fill out the practise pages. He recommebnded this book to a few of his other students and parents of students.

With a little help of a friend ....
Starting to play guitar is easy and fun. To keep going is much more complicated. This nice little book is helping to stay motivated and make a dream to become true (more or less). Especially for those people who don’t like teachers. Thanks Luke for your great work.

A great Guitar practice journal.
This Guitar journal is so good as it gives you a push to ask you the deep questions regarding your personal goals in where you want to take your guitar playing. This journal helps you create and come up with your own structured practice times. Definitely recommend this journal if that is your style in learning/practice.
