It’s a clean solution for powering a dash cam without messy wiring, especially since it taps into the factory connector near the rearview mirror. For newer models like the 2024+ Toyota Tacoma, it works exactly as advertised and makes for a super tidy setup. That said, be careful when relying solely on the “5-pin Type A” compatibility description. I purchased this for a 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid, which also uses a 5-pin connector, but the pin layout is different. Because of that, the adapter is not actually compatible with this vehicle despite appearing to match on paper. So overall, great product if your vehicle is truly supported—but double-check the exact pin configuration for your specific model and year before buying.

I installed my first dash cam in our 3rd Gen Tundra and didn't want any wires to show or to have to run wire under panels. I heard about this product from one of my blogs and it had great reviews. I had it installed in about 15 mins and the camera in another 5. It came with all the tools needed for panel removal and fit my wiring harness in the ceiling perfectly. Even came with a nice short USB-C power cable for the camera. It's so small and easy to hide in the ceiling you can't even see it. YT videos are a great help showing how to safely remove the shroud without breaking any tabs. It was well worth the cost to eliminate hokey wiring and save a ton of time getting power to a camera or radar detector.

My 2025 4runner off road premium (listed on the compatibility list) has 10 pins not 5. This is not the right connector. I have one wire that runs on pin1 of the needed second row. Other brand adapters show the 10 pin model as the correct one for toyotas of this type.

Fit well in my '23 tundra for dash cam. Just like all the youtube videos, using this Dongar was a simple and clean way to install my dash cam. The most difficult part was removing the roof panel to access the plug. Did this install in less than 30 minutes, most of which were spent watching YT how-to videos.

Fit perfectly in my 2025 Tundra Platinum. Easy connection to the existing plug and it now powers my USB dash cam. Been using it for 6 months with no issues

Instructions are a little cryptic, but its worked perfectly for my application in a 2024 Tacoma Trailhunter for power to my dash cam. If you are installing in a 4G Tacoma, the center overhead console with the vanity lights, SOS button, and sunglass holder pulls straight down at the front to disengage the two plastic clips and has two tabs that hold the reaR of the overhead console. The 5-pin plug on my truck was just above the driver's seat on the left side of the headliner. I ran the control cable to the Dongar unit and mounted it on the same plastic panel as the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 camera on the rearview mirror. The included USB-C cables (2 are included) were too short for my application, so I bought a longer one and now my dashcam hides directly behind my rearview mirror and looks like a OEM installation.

I upgraded to the latest version from this company so I could get a USB C vs micro. This new version seems more refined. Very simple install and works great with my Garmin Mini 3 dash cam.

I recommend a 90deg usb cable into the dashcam, the supplied straight cable end is stressed against the dashcam mount, possible connection failure later

So much easier than runing a 'add a fuse' to power my dash cam. Great quality and came packaged nicely. Dongar even had install videos on their website to help with install.
