Got this for educational purposes for my kiddo who is on the spectrum. It’s been perfect for play based learning with the numbers/letters in a “fun” way with the extra visual input and color changes. With that said, the light box arrived in the original labeled box. One end of the box was opened but, light box itself was inside of a plastic sleeve and still looked brand new. Included five (plastic) packs with a set of various cards in each as well as two markers for additional blank cards. Variety of the cards is nice with the range of options…you can choose colored text, black and white text, symbols, regular print or cursive, images/emojis and so on. Majority of the text is easy to read. Cards are durable and pretty resistant to folding. Each is thick and feels similar to plastic/PVC, corners are also kind of sharp because of this. Light box is super lightweight. Has brackets on the back to hang on the wall or you can leave it standing freely on a leveled surface, it’s stable and doesn’t fall over. Placement may be limited due to the length of the power cord if you decide not to use batteries, depending on the frequency of use you might be changing the six batteries frequently. Light box has a power switch on the side that must be on before you can use the included remote to adjust the colors or set a specific mode (fade, strobe, etc). Response of the box to the remote is quick, you don’t need to press the buttons continuously or search for the sensor. Cards slide in easily from both sides of the box, they are a little loose once placed so if the box is tilted enough the entire row of cards can shift. Colors light up well and the hues are vivid. Some of the color tones the box displays in comparison to the color shown on the remote are a little off, it’s mainly the lighter colors…when you press the orange button it displays more of a yellow hue from the box and pressing yellow on the remote makes the box display a lime green color that is nowhere near the basic yellow. Even with this discrepancy it’s still a great kit with the variety of cards included.

The media could not be loaded.  After attempting to make a DIY version not two days prior, I found this little jewel as such a great price and HAD TO HAVE IT.PRO: VALUE - At twenty buckaroos at the time of order, this light is an INCREDIBLE value for what all you get! You get TONS of letters - black and color, emojis, words, and even blank pieces with markers to write your own! PLUS the remote! I am absolutely blown away at all the amazing stuff you get with this light PLUS it's RGBW with difference flashing modes and all at a decent sized light. I could NOT be happier!PRO: QUALITY/DESIGN - The box is made out of entirely plastic but feels pretty durable. It's also lightweight so no worries putting it high on a shelf or wherever! Designed with a simple on/off switch, but as long as the light is plugged in, you can turn it on and off from the remote meaning you can place this light anywhere you want!PRO: DUAL MOUNTING OPTIONS - This light easily stands on it's own BUT has mounting holes so that it can be mounted on a wall if you choose! NOTE - I don't remember seeing any mounting hardware if this is the route you want to go. A couple of screws that I'm sure you've got lying around would work. OR use a few picture frame command strips. The light is lightweight enough that they would hold up no problem!PRO: LIGHT MODES - Something I personally need to know but never see reviewers or product descriptions mention is "Can this light be seen in a fully lit room/daylight?" Why is this important? Because we're not all sitting in dark rooms to just sit and stare at our pretty neon lights. We'd like to actually be able to use them in a lit room but STILL be able to see the light effects! For me personally, this means my office but also for use at my convention booth! So I'm here to report that YES! You can see this light's effects even in a well-lit room! Will it be as strong of an effect... well no, but still. My video post will demonstrate this light in both a dark and lit room for your convenience. You're welcome. :) OH! And the RGB is awesome! You can match whatever your brand color is!CON-ISH: PRODUCT PACKAGING DESCRIPTION [POWER PLUG] - So the product states that there's a micro-usb port. There's not. Or at least not that I've seen. Now that I'm typing this, I realize I did not check the bottom. But there IS a power cable included. It's a barrel plug / USB-A cable. The cable included matches the listing product photos. I actually wish there WAS a micro-usb port as the provided cable is only a few feet. And I've got plenty of long micro cables hanging around but not extra barrel plug cables. I'll have to figure out a way around this (I don't want to use SIX AA batteries...oooof) as I plan to place it on a shelf high on my wall.CON-ISH: LETTERS - Odd thing about the set of letters/numbers in the funkier font... they only come in 'Y' and 'Z', not the full alphabet. Kind of makes that set useless. Oh well. The black and colorful block letters make up for this.***BONUS TIP*** If you have a laser printer and transparencies, you can create your own custom fonts/designs/logo/whatever! The possibilities are endless!I've been eyeballing these lights on the big orange "T" app for a while but hadn't committed because the cheap ones were smaller than I'd like plus they don't come with all these goodies.
