This book is beautifully written! As kids we were all enthralled by Shivaji and his exploits and Ranjeet Desai transports us back to the days when history was made and the seeds of the powerful Maratha empire were sown. This is the first Marathi book I own on my Kindle and fittingly so.

Best book ever read so far

Nice read. While reading you never feel to put the book down. Must read for reading enthusiasts. After reading this book my respect for Raje has been increased.

Excellent Book

I loved the book. Never got disconnected while reading this 1100 pages book written on great Chatrapati Shivaji Raje. You have many takeaways from this book. Every one must read this book at least once. I felt god has taken avatar to create Hindavi swaraj, proud to be born in Maharashtra, India with great history.

The rest of the book is a novel for readers who like stories.Dont expect a factual book.It is written taking into account the historical evidences and various verbal traditions.Thus, authenticity of the episodes/stories cant be expected (as mentioned in the introduction).Overall good book,if you acquire at least one quality of the king after knowing him !!!

Exceptional book. The author has done a commendable job of bringing to the readers viewpoint that even Shivaji Maharaj was a human being of flesh and blood..With his mental insecurities and all those aspects that a common man would have in his life.This for me was really fresh approach to look at our King as our history books and the society has literally made him GOD but more than that he was a great ruler, a strategist, looked at administration with typical managerial astuteness and this qualities brought him more closer to me. Now i know why people respect him and definitely a larger than life personality which sadly history books didn't cover!Worth reading - hats off to the author for such a brave work.

I had read Shivaji Maharaj Stories in schools but never I had so much attachment to this great Man but after reading this book I can so co-relate to the Struggle and life of this Man. Feels As If I am seeing this Man living with my own eyes. Smiling with him,crying with him. deepest of the emotional moments In life of Maharaj have been written with so much Vivid details dat u feel like witness ing them at the moment.Hard to keep down the book once it's in Ur hands.
