Amazing product!!
Have had this for maybe 48 hrs and this thing works!!!! Less flies mosquitoes & other pesky bugs — have left it running non stop as suggested & was surprises to see all the bugs trapped in the bottom. There is no zapping sound - just every once in a while hear trap doors open to collect the insects. The light is minimal & actually seems nice on my back deck so it doesn’t bother me. Fan is very quiet — this is a must have if u have an outdoor space & want to decrease or eliminate annoying insects like flies (my major issue ) or mosquitoes (2nd issue) Highly recommend if u have an outdoor space you you enjoy using

Great bug catcher
I had this gizmo on for 3 days on my back porch and checked it today. I live in north Texas with BIG bugs and spiders. I saw the solar version of this DynaTrap on sale at Costco and read the poor reviews. Many reviews recommended this electric version, and I can see why! After 3 days the trap was full. Moths, beetles (I think), mosquitoes and some other insects I am not familiar with since I just moved to TX. I was hoping it would catch flies, but am just glad to see how effective it is with other insects! Super easy to use. The power button was a bit tricky because it’s covered by a rubber bubble, but the noise level is surprisingly low! Mine is not hanging, it’s placed on a table on my back porch. I recommend it!

It works! And pretty to look at
It works, finally! A big remover for the hot summer month. I have for sure noticed a decrease in mosquitoes. It does capture them well and hold them inside alive. The one thing I never thought of, though it catches them it also attracts more bugs because of the up light. I haven’t noticed an issue but I have noticed more bugs but they do get caught. It is very pretty to look at and you don’t hear a zapping every two seconds which is nice. I don’t love the push on/off button it’s a bit hard to press when it’s hanging. Wish it came with a remote or easier way to turn off, especially if it’s hanging a ways from the area. The cord too is also very short. We needed an extension cord which I don’t love because it doesn’t look great, and was an extra purchase. Other than this it’s amazing. I will be getting one for my parents home. I leave it on 24hrs and shut it off during storms. I would remember the bugs don’t die right away. They are alive inside and are only being caught. So discarding should be done at a distance from the location being used. If the fan or machine is turned off I am not sure if they can get out because the fan and flap is not functioning. I love the color green as it blends nicely. Thick black cord to plug in and easy instructions. Good brand and well known. I love that you can get a RP light if necessary which helps. It is a nice size and covers about 1/2 acre which is perfect for our Apt balcony. It was a great value and on sale which was nice. Thought was hard to tell the difference of the other models outside of the coverage of area.

reduce the skeeter population drastically.
We have a marsh 30 feet from our house / 400 feet of border with it. I bought several of these and they really made a huge difference. Leave them on 24/7. I would say get at least 3-4 of them... I have 7. They don't eliminate but reduce the skeeter population drastically. I was skeptical. I'm unpacking them now from winter storage. Chemicals not good. How DynaTrap DTNATRAP works: UV-LED light and titanium dioxide, TiO₂, coated surface The energy-efficient UV-LEDs shine horizontally for 360° visibility. This is the primary attractant for gnats, fruit flies, moths, mosquitoes, etc. CO₂ generation via TiO₂ coating The inside has a titanium dioxide, TiO₂, coated surface. When the UV light hits the TiO₂, it triggers a photocatalytic reaction that produces small amounts of CO₂. That CO₂ trail mimics human breath, which mosquitoes and other biting insects use to find us. The manual actually describes it as: “Flying insects are attracted to the unit by UV light and CO₂ that is generated by the photo-catalysis between the UV-LIGHT LED lamp and special TiO₂ coating”. Fan + trapping Once insects get close, a whisper-quiet vacuum fan sucks them into a basket/mesh. A StickyTech glue card or ultra-fine mesh keeps them from escaping. So your understanding is right in spirit: the UV light activates the TiO₂ coating to produce CO₂, rather than the coating releasing pre-stored CO₂. It’s a chemical reaction happening while the light is on. Key details: TiO₂ + UV = CO₂: The coating itself doesn’t contain CO₂. The UV light catalyzes a reaction on the TiO₂ surface that generates CO₂ from water vapor and organic compounds in the air. 4-way trapping: UV-LED + CO₂ + fan + glue card/mesh = “4X Trapping Power”.

Well, that really stinks!
The Dynatrap works as it is intended. The light attracts bugs, then the fan sucks them in. They remain trapped & eventually die. The problem with that is that you have live bugs and dead bugs together. Since they die of natural causes, they not only suffer, but they stink really bad too. If you empty the dead stinking bugs, then you let the live ones out too. We used this for few days, then unplugged it & left for 5 days. When we came back the room we left it in stunk so bad it made me sick to my stomach. Another thing, our house is older, so there's no electrical outlet on the outside, so we had to keep the door open about an inch to run an extension cord outside, obviously letting more bugs in & running up the electric bill. If you buy this product, be sure you have somewhere to hang it. It does not come with any accessories. You provide your own rod to hang it on & your own outdoor extension cord.

Best bug zapper
Works unbelievable

Must be on 24 hours a day and uses a fan to keep bugs from escaping until they die.
The unit works as described, the issue is that it needs to stay on 24 hours a day as the fan is what kills insects by continually keeping them under pressure and unable to escape. The fan also dehydrates the insects and they slowly die (and possibly by an agonizing death). I just wanted people to be aware in case that’s something that matters to you. I am not a fan of mosquitos and thats why I purchased the device but it actually catches moths and other bugs more than anything else. I think I will eventually buy a good big zapper that kills instantly.

Dyna Trap
This DynaTrap mosquito and flying insect trap has worked really well for my backyard. After leaving it running for a few days, I noticed a clear reduction in mosquitoes and other flying bugs around our patio area. It’s especially helpful during the evenings when bugs are usually the worst. I like that it operates quietly and doesn’t use harsh chemicals or sprays. The design is simple, and cleaning out the catch basket is quick and easy. It also covers a surprisingly large area for a compact unit. The trap works best when left running continuously, so patience is important at first, but once it starts working, the difference is noticeable. Overall, it’s a great option for making outdoor spaces more comfortable and enjoyable. Definitely worth it if you spend a lot of time outside!

This is 120v and will only work in US
Product description doesn't mention that, seller doesn't respond. Product available to order on UAE store but 120v.... Unnecessary waste of time and resources

It doesn’t work
Mosquitos literally dancing around the thing laughing / using the UV light as a disco-ball.

Totale insatisfaction
