STSEETOP Camera Case for Sony ZV-E1 - Protective Silicone DSLR Skin Cover, Detachable Cage, Shockproof, Dustproof (Black) Review: Added Grip with a Bit of Bump Protection - My ZV-E1 spends most of its time in a cage, but truth be told, I often don't need the extra attachment points it affords and keep it on mainly for protection. I've never used a silicone skin on a DSLR before, but it seemed like a logical thing to try for when my camera will be out in non-so-dangerous environments. I chose the red version of this skin for the sake of variety (the majority of my gear is black); the colour is quite nice in person, and adds a welcome, not-so-serious flair to the camera. Installation is not as quick as putting a case on your phone, but it took me about 90 seconds the first time. All the raised buttons and cutouts are precisely where they need to be, and they do not hinder the operation of the camera. For the SD card and connection ports on the side of the camera, the skin has a slit that is meant to deform to allow the access doors to open -- I don't care for the way it looks when it's deformed like that, but it is functional; the skin has a cutout for the battery door, so it opens just as well as it does without the skin. The screen is also completely unobstructed by the skin. The main benefit of this skin is that it adds some extra grip throughout, but it will also add a bit of bump protection -- while I don't expect it to save the heavy camera if I drop it, it comes in handy when I bump into things when the camera is strapped around my neck. The only thing I wish were better is the labels on all the buttons -- I sometimes need the white text / black background because I split my time between different cameras, and while the labels are all moulded onto the buttons on the skin, the single colour makes it a bit challenging in dim lighting. I won't downrate the product for this, but it's something for you to consider. If you're in need of some extra grip and some light-duty bump protection, this skin from STSEETOP may be the way to go. Review: Super Nice Grip - Perfect fit for my Sony ZV-E1. What this is good for is not just protecting my camera from any scratches or dents, but it also allows for a greater grip on my camera, so it doesn't slip out of my hands as easily as it normally would. It has the perfect incisions for all the buttons, and looks great. Great addition to any person worried to scratch up an expensive camera.
