My sons went right down to his drum kit and started with his new sticks as soon as he unwrapped them. He was delighted with the sound and grip. Great value too!

Are they really that bad? No. They are decent enough for practice pads and for those odd times when you get into the rhythm a bit much, drop a stick and need a quick grab. For actual practice on a kit however, the material does not dampen vibrations as well as hickory, so you get this weird vibration transfer that not only feels like the impact goes right to your hand, it gets annoying when you hit the rim and creates fatigue. So stick to wood if you plan to hit hard, but if you're looking to tap, for the cost you pay they're actually pretty good.
