After a recent incident, I feel this is essential if you are around big dogs. One of my dogs was pinned down and held for a whole 5 minutes by a large dog recently. She knew this dog, we knew this dog, this dog was good-natured seemingly, but my dog growled at her and the dog pinned her down. Nothing we could do would get her off. She only released when my dog fully submitted and played dead. My husband was injured in the process, as was the owner of the other dog. My dog was not badly injured as the dog who pinned her down intended to teach her a lesson and not hurt her badly, but we have learned our lesson and will take safety precautions now. This break stick is long enough to give you leverage and the handle is non-slip. The hanging loop means that it is easy to keep it to hand. A good value purchase which I hope I will never have to use.

Was advised to purchase these as back up safety measures by a licensed professional dog trainer. We keep one on both floors of the house in case it’s ever needed. So far, we haven’t needed them, thankfully, but we feel more confident knowing we have them. They are a sturdy construction which gives us confidence they will do the job if needed.
