The SMALLRIG Universal Phone Holder Mount 4382 is one of those inexpensive accessories that quickly becomes an essential part of a camera or content-creation setup. I use phones more and more alongside my primary cameras, so having a secure and convenient way to integrate one into a rig is extremely useful. The universal phone holder design makes this much more versatile than something built around one specific phone model. It securely holds the phone while still making it easy to install and remove when needed. I especially like the cold shoe mounting option. It allows the holder to integrate cleanly with a camera cage, top handle, or other compatible mounting point. This is great when I want my phone positioned close to my main camera without adding a complicated collection of clamps and arms. There are so many practical ways to use a phone on a camera rig. It can serve as a secondary monitor, reference screen, teleprompter companion, livestream display, script or shot-list viewer, or even another camera capturing vertical social-media footage while the main camera records the primary shot. The mount itself feels compact and well thought out. That's important because once you start adding microphones, monitors, lights, wireless receivers, and other accessories, camera rigs can become crowded very quickly. And like the other SmallRig accessories I've used, the 4382 has that purpose-built feel that makes it fit naturally into a production setup.

This phone rig is exactly what i was looking for i attached it to a tripod and now i can film content for my YouTube channel (Dhonestreview) where i actually have a more in depth video showing this item, it is one of those simple items that served its purpose and looks great, i think the price of $20 is fair, it seems durable and stable, it hardly weighs anything as it is aluminum, it can also be used in multiple setups and be attached to other rigs , it is about 4 inches tall , i would recommend

Works great with the Small Rig brand camera stand that clamps onto my desk. Easy to remove and install. The clamp on either side of the phone is very stiff. It was a little difficult for me to get it in place on my phone, but once I did, it was clear that it was NOT moving. This is a made product sold for a fair price.

Sturdy, reliable holder.. just not ideal for thicker phones This is a very well-made phone holder. The mount feels secure, installation is simple, and it does an excellent job keeping my phone steady, even on rough roads. The clamping arms feel durable, and the overall design gives confidence that it will last. The only downside is sizing. My Samsung S24 Ultra fits only if I remove the protective case, otherwise it’s too snug to lock in properly. That’s fine if you run your phone bareback or with a slim case, but anyone using a thicker case may want to size up. Overall, it’s a high-quality product that does its job well, but keep the fit limitation in mind if you’ve got one of the larger flagship phones.

Works perfect holds my iPhone 16 Pro Max with a case. Full aluminum, look and feels expensive and sturdy!! Can’t go wrong with small rig!

I’ve used plenty of phone mounts that feel like they’re going to break the second you tighten them, but this SmallRig mount is built differently. The all-metal construction feels solid, the adjustments are smooth, and it holds my phone securely without any wobble. The cold shoe mount is a great addition for adding a microphone or small light, making it perfect for filming, travel, and outdoor content. The ability to adjust the angle and position makes it much more versatile than basic phone clamps. This is the kind of gear you buy once and stop thinking about because it just works. SmallRig nailed the design.

This has been a game changer for me. The screen on the front of my Osmo Action 5 does not show just how much the camera is actually capturing and is very hard to see the quality of the shot. Putting this on allows me to actually see what's being recorded using my phone and the DJI app. I'm sure it can also be used to turn your phone into a teleprompter as well though I haven't tried it. I initially wasn't sure if this was going to work with my original Pixel Fold due to its size but it fits it in its folded configuration with some room to spare. My only real complaint with this is how hard it is to manipulate it. Every moving part on this is tight. I worry about damaging my foldable when trying to make adjustments with the phone loaded, or even just trying to put my phone in it. I put it in the cold shoe and try to get everything into position as best I can before taking it off and loading the phone and then make small adjustments when back in the shoe. One nice feature is it gives you a cold shoe mount since it's using probably using the only one available on your cage. This allows you to put a light or mic on above it and due to how tight everything is I have no doubt it can support the weight of just about anything you put in there.

Gli snodi meritano una menzione particolare, perché spesso è proprio lì che i supporti economici tradiscono, con giunti troppo morbidi che nel tempo si allentano e non tengono più la posizione, qui invece la tensione è calibrata nel modo giusto, abbastanza fluida da poter orientare il telefono senza dover fare forza eccessiva, ma allo stesso tempo abbastanza ferma da mantenere esattamente l'angolazione che si imposta, sia in orizzontale che in verticale. Il passaggio tra modalità paesaggio e ritratto è semplice e intuitivo, si regola tutto senza arnesi particolari e si adatta allo smartphone in pochi secondi, anche quando si è in movimento o si ha fretta di sistemare il setup, la larghezza regolabile tra 57 e 88 mm copre praticamente qualsiasi telefono di dimensioni normali senza problemi. La slitta fredda è un dettaglio che per me fa tutta la differenza, perché ho montato direttamente su di essa una luce controllabile via bluetooth, e il risultato finale è un sistema compatto in cui tutto è a portata di mano, posso gestire sia la luce che lo smartphone senza dover spostare nulla, senza cavi che ballano in giro e senza dover ricorrere ad adattatori aggiuntivi o soluzioni di fortuna. La verniciatura è rifinita bene, uniforme, senza sbavature o punti in cui il metallo è rimasto grezzo, il che non è scontato in questa categoria di accessori, spesso si trovano prodotti che all'occhio sembrano ok ma che da vicino mostrano imperfezioni, qui invece la qualità estetica è in linea con quella costruttiva. In definitiva, se cercate un supporto per smartphone da integrare in un setup più articolato, che sia stabile, ben costruito e che offra una certa flessibilità di posizionamento, questo SmallRig fa il suo lavoro in modo impeccabile, senza fronzoli e senza punti deboli evidenti dopo un utilizzo continuato.
