Great product!
We live in an "Historic District" in our town and Halloween is a big event in our neighborhood. This past spring, we replaced old jute carpet squares with new ones. They look great! But, we get 650+ kids on Halloween plus parents who accompany their young ones.....So, we purchased this plastic film for Halloween. We rolled it out yesterday afternoon (10/31/24). It was very sticky and adhered well. It was easy to do with 2 people--one rolling it and the other patting it down. Then, the kids arrived. This film handled all that foot traffic better than we expected. It didn't tear, pull up, nor caused anyone to trip or stumble. We will purchase this film again for next year. And BTW, the photo is from the morning AFTER about 800 people walked on it. I am very impressed!

Shrinks. Won't stay put.
Due to scheduling, we had to paint our baseboards after having our commercial carpet tiles installed. Obviously we want to protect the BRAND NEW carpet so we purchased this self adhesive film to cover the perimeter of the room. We initially attempted to use the film in lieu of tape but that idea was scrapped because the film would too easily curl under and stick to itself. So, we ran painters tape tight to the baseboard then stuck the film to the painters tape and pressed it down firmly to the carpet. That seemed to work well until the next morning when we returned to find that the carpet film shrank and pulled the painters tape with it. On top of that, it was not stuck to the carpet anymore so what is the point. So, now we have to pull up the film, redo the painters tape and lay protection paper instead. What a waste of time and money. This stuff cannot do the ONE JOB it was marketed to do. Zero stars. I would never recommend this product. Just go with tape and paper.

Life Saver (Actually, Carpet Saver)
If not for this product covering my NEW carpet, I would have definitely removed my wife's new puppy from our home. I am SOOOO glad I thought to order this and cover the carpet right before getting a non-potty trained puppy. 100% protection from accidents. Just wipe clean. Carpet underneath stays untouched. Highly recommend.

Tour of Homes protection for oriental rugs
Went against the directions warning against putting this on wool rugs. I placed directly on 100 year old oriental rugs and fuzzy flokati wool rugs. We had over 1,000 people touring our home during a rainy weekend and this worked well to see the rug underneath while protecting from dirty shoes. Next time I will wrap the edges of the rug with non sticky saran wrap/cling wrap first then place this adhesive film. When removing this from the edges it did want to pull on the wool knots where the ends are frayed. If there is an area that has a tear that would pull wool or fiber, I would suggest covering that will saran wrap too. The saran wrap will stick to the adhesive film but not allow it to stick to a delicate area on rug or carpet. Slight learning curve on how to place. 2 people make it go quicker. We placed a few inches onto wood floor and rolled onto rug, lifted up and unrolled about 2 feet while other person smoothes film from middle out to edges. When removing the film roll from edges into center and it sticks to itself while keeping dirt contained. I'll use this again.

NOT easy to use
Devil tape. SO DIFFICULT to apply and roll because when it sticks to itself, forget about it! No directions! Then when you cut it to add a new row, good luck finding the edge and having an easy apply. This is my first time ever using a carpet adhesive and maybe they’re all like this, but I’ll never use it again.Unlike other reviews, the poorly applied adhesive did stick to the carpet and my hands and to itself
