Great for Nyone who works in a data center
This is a must have if you rack gear in network racks. Built sturdy to handle heavy items. I use this as a shelf on a regular basis for my laptop. It allows me to position it at just the right height.

Another set of hands
As someone who for years has struggled with installing or removing servers and switches on my own, this is effectively another set of hands. The ability to remove mounting screws and knowing this will support the equipment rather than worrying about it dropping or trying to undo and hold with one hand…is so beneficial. It feels very solid and attaches to racks easily.

Where was this 20 years ago
Expensive but amazing if you rack mount equipment frequently. Takes the place of a second set of hands as advertised. Only found one rack in our campus where the holes are too far from the edge for this to work. Older 2 post aluminum racks may or may not work depending on the hole spacing from the edge.

4 star product that could be a 5 with some adjustments
Very helpful for installing equipment solo. It's also nice that it doubles as a spot for my laptop as well when I'm working in a data room. It would be a 5 star product if it had a place to store the spare pins for threaded/non-threaded racks and a way to adjust for different rail widths without the need of a separate tool.

Pricy but well worth it.
Very well built and thought out tool. Have used this on different racks with cage nuts and tapped holes. The tool is adjustable to work with varying thickness rails. Needs 1 U spacing to fit. The tool needs the rail drilled and tapped so the alternate spring pins can be stored on the tool. Also a case would be nice.

Where was this device 20 years ago? A life saver
I have been in IT for 30 years. After working in many data centers and standing in front of countless server / networking racks, this product has been a life saver. This has made mounting new hardware much safer, has cut my install/ mounting times down considerably. Great tool and super handy. An easy decision to buy and I highly recommend this to anyone installing networking equipment especially if they do so alone. It's better than a second pair of hands! Don't wait, buy it. You will not regret it!

Needs lots of improvement - Returned
First off this is a great idea for a product. However could have been so much better. 1) Price. This should cost a few bucks to make in China. Even if they charged $100, it would still be tons of profit, for it being basically two pieces of metal on a hinge $250 is ludicrous. 2) Size. If you plan on traveling and using this during installs it is too long to fit in a standard laptop backpack. They should have made it slide out and extend like server rails do and then you could transport it at a reasonable size. 3) Extra hardware needed. You need a 10mm wrench to swap the ends from square open hole to the threaded adapters. AND you need a 13mm wrench to adjust the bolts if it doesn’t fit your rack. So now you need to buy and carry around 2 wrenches + the extra adapters (that can easily get lost) + the unit itself. This should have been designed better to require less extra parts and tools… a Dell Server rail has no extra parts or tools needed, can extend, support tons of weight, etc. as an example, you just need to put the effort into designing something better. 4) Lack of support. I emailed support with a simple question and never got any response. End Result= Product Returned.

Does not fit all racks
Beautiful and well constructed. Lots of nice touches like magnets that hold it closed. BUT It does not fit some 10-32 A/V style rack rails. Look at the attached picture. The locking pin has been removed for clarity. The inside curve of the rack rail keeps the Setup.exe2 from going far enough in, and keeps the locking pin from reaching the hole. Disappointing for my applications.

Used it a few times so far and it’s made every install easy! Let’s a single man struggling to do a two man job alone do the work safely and quickly. No more tying to balance a switch in one hand, hoping the cage nuts don’t pop out whilst bending an a rack ear. Biggest issue, and why it doesn’t get 5 stars: requires some tools (a spanner) to adjust the rack ears and no where to store the alternative pins. They could have easily made a threaded hole on the arms to store the extra pins.

Perfektes Produkt

This is a great tool for when racking server or comms kit. No longer do I need to find boxes to balance or use one arm to support the device whilst furiously trying to get the first 2 screws in.
