Good light.

I had an extension built and about 45 of these spotlights fitted around the house by electrical contractors about 4.5 years ago. These are fitted by cutting a circular whole in the ceiling and held in place with a couple of spring loaded clips. They are sealed units with non-replaceable LEDs, with an estimated life of about 60,000 hours (or similar). However, 4.5 years later one stopped working, in a room where the lights are not often on, so the life usage was about 3,000 hours maximum.An electrician was fixing something else but showed me how to disconnect and fit a new unit. He commented that because they contain electronics they do have a certain failure rate. However the replacement arrived the next day, and took about 1 minute to fix, although the spring loading is a bit fierce and removal from the ceiling needs some care to avoid damaging the plasterboard. Probably all round cheaper and more convenient and than bulbs once one knows how to replace them. Look good and give good white light. The unit comes with a white decorative surround but can be replaced with a chrome one. Simples!However, the electrician also commented that Aurora have a reputation for changing their range quite frequently so it may be advisable to buy 1 or 2 spare units in case of failure.
