I have 2-b or 2-c hair so I have extra low porosity dry frizzy troll doll hair when I have no product in. I rolled them slightly wet after misting with my water spray bottle and then put in my curling mouse. Rolled them and sprayed with hair spray and let them sit for 2 hours before going out. Drove to the event and undid my hair and separated the curls with hair oil in the car for 5-10 minutes. I looked like I walked out of the salon! And i would know. Not trying to brag I get my hair cut every 2-3 months and walk out with a blowout. My stylist loves playing with my hair. don't do this on super freshly washed hair, it won't hold that well. Do it on day 2 or put lots of product in if you know your hair won't hold a curl. For faster results I say hit it with the blow-dryer if you're out of time. There's a learning curve but after the 2nd to 3rd time I had it down. my hair isn't too thick. I have hair down to my mid back but it's fine and wavy/curly 3 rods was enough for me. If you have thick hair do 4. If you want to do this everyday or every other day buy a blowout wand and do your hair before it's faster for maintaining if you are going to have a blowout all week! I've gone 4-5 days without washing and doing this. since you don't need to do the actual full blowout process since you're using this. I use the wavy talk blowout brush and just use it to smooth out my hair and not curl it. There is no need to when you're using this after. and then roll the rods in to get that volume and curl with product. I've got this method down to 10-15 minutes of just rolling it in my hair without the prep work of my blowout brush 1-2 times a week to smooth it out again. The lazy blowout brush method for me is 15-20 minutes if my hair is a crazy tangled mess. It has changed my life! I'm tired of doing my makeup and hair on the spot and it taking me 2 hours and 30 minutes. And it's cheaper than the overnight blowout rods on tiktok or that famous youtube blowout lady. I ain't paying 50-60$ for the original rods call me frugal. and it actually grips the hair! I hate satin or silk for wavy curly hair texture. Those materials don't grip shi* . I've never slept with it in. I know better than that since I sleep rough but doing it in the daytime or getting prepared for a night out. This is a godsend. And I've wore it out running errands with the rods in and used the scarf to tie it and I have that 1950's updo. It's so chic and smart! If you're still struggling YouTube the blowout lady and take her method to these rods. It's basically a dupe of her rods. Roll it unicorn style. I had the 3-4 rods on each side of my head and I didn't get what I liked, it was cute though but not my preference. If your hair is only 1 length and have grown out long layers or no layers there is no point in this. Ya have to get the butterfly, wolf or properly layered haircut in order to get the model hair look. Let's be honest. How many of y'all actually got the right style haircut to even attempt this? I see some of the reviews and have to be honest there is a formula to good hair and it's all on the cut and the texture to pull off that look. Ya gotta get the formula right. I feel bad that this is getting some bad reviews based on just some of y'all not knowing the baseline to this. I wish one of your true girlfriend's would pull ya aside and tell you the truth.

TL;DR:- comfortable to sleep in as a side sleeper- Do not recommend bothering with sleeping on; would use to prolong a blowout, for faux Betty Bangs with the Rosie the Riveter scarf, or to set a style while getting dressed/ready/doing chores- Can work for shoulder length hair but does not hold the volume on its own; suggest other products on shorter or heavily layered styles.- Takes some practice to get the rollers in securely and wrapped in the scarf.- Overall, neat product and I’m not mad about it. If you want the results of the lovely ladies on Instagram, I suggest starting with blown out hair with some hold product and using this to prolong the style.For context: I have just-past-shoulder length hair with curtain bangs and barely noticeable long layers. My individual hairs are thin but I have a lot of it. Texture is straight/wavy with about 1/3 white hair so there are a few wild ones in there. I have used foam rollers, rag rollers, the foam ‘robe’ roller, and braids to add texture to my hair. I did the rollers straight down the back and wrapped the scarf around my head. As a side sleeper, this is the first heatless curl system that I have slept comfortably in. The front roller was hanging on for dear life in the morning, the bottom roller fell right out when I removed the scarf, and the roller at the crown of my head was still pretty secure. Curls were there, as was limp, slightly oily hair that could’ve been saved with dry shampoo but I did not have any. User error entirely. From what I could tell, the curl at the tips remained all day.Second night, freshly washed hair, slightly damp, with curl oil at the ends. I rolled the front per instructions and divided my remaining hair into two sections, rolling tightly to the back. Wrapped in scarf.The front roller in the morning was hanging in there by a few hairs, the back was pretty secure given I had slept on them. Any part of my hair that had been maybe more damp than dry was still wet (9 hours later) and did not curl (understandable). The rest had a fresh blow out w/ curl look and I wasn’t mad about it. I finger combed my hair and then hit it with texturizing spray. It’s 5 hours later on a semi humid day (44%) and the volume has dropped out of the roots, but curl and bounce is still there.

the only time heatless curls have works for me gives me the blowout effect I’ve been looking for forever, can’t recommend these enough. Although I should have got the silk bonnet as well because I’m a rough sleeper

I first attempted using this on straightened dry hair. That didn’t work so well. I then tried again by wetting my hair with water and using some hair spray and the results were amazing! Your hair def has to be a little damp!! I highly recommend this!!

Let's be clear I didn't get these for free, and I am not a friend of the seller.It's just an honest review from someone who's purchased them out of desperation of not being able to do anything with my hair.My hair is fine in texture but there is a lot of it, It's just pause my shoulder and also highlighted so the less heat I use the better.I get a blow dry every week due to needing to look polished for work.And WOW...I used these rods on dry hair on my week off just to see if they did anything.They gave me a bouncy blow dry look basically.Could you sleep in them-no they are too firm.But I've been putting them in for 3-5hrs a day and they give volume and a nice wave.The finish looks very classy.I just need one more rod~ there are only 3 in the pack.Honestly these are worth every penny.I starting using the long heartless one long curling rod that goes horizontally over the head but it makes my hair overly curly like a cheap perm.I much prefer these rods.
