Keeps our boat looking good.
We apply this every year to the canvas cockpit enclosure of our boat. By sealing the fabric, we keep the cockpit dry, but also slow down the development of mold and stains on the canvas.

Does what it says on the tin
I’ve tried several brands of products for waterproofing. This one isn’t cheap but it works, though it smells very much like it contains the same stuff as Fabsil.

Wow, this stuff works. We sprayed the whole gallon on our boat canopy and not one drop of rain came into the helm- dry as a bone. I plan on spraying yearly or as needed. You pay a little more for this product but it works. We bought a gallon garden sprayer and it worked like a charm.

AMAZING stuff!!!
This product is nothing short of amazing! I purchased a used boat that has 2 canvas covers. The covers are in good condition but leaked a significant amount of water. This product saved my boat covers! I'm so happy I spent the money and went with this brand!!! I was considering a cheaper brand, but 2 things made me decide to order this one: the videos that others posted that showed them pouring water on the surface (that's exactly how it works!) and the fact that my local marina sells only this brand (for a whopping $168!) I didn't skimp - I first washed the entire canvas with the recommended 303 Multi-Surface Cleaner, rinsed well and dried overnight. I didn't actually use a garden sprayer. I used a heavy-duty industrial spray bottle (to control the application and the "overspray") and thoroughly sprayed it on in sections. It was a very hot, sunny day, so it dried very quickly. (I left the canvas attached to the boat for the application, so I was very careful to mask off the surfaces I didn't want sprayed!) I left it to dry overnight. The next morning, I did my water test by pouring a large jug of water over it. It worked just like the videos! The water beads up and rolls right off!!! I'm SO happy with this stuff, I've now used it on my cheap, not-waterproof outdoor patio cushions and toss pillows! The money I've saved just by not having to replace outdoor cushions would have justified the cost of this product, but it has also saved me a few thousand in replacing my boat covers! Highly recommended!

LIFE SAVER for white slipcovers!
We have the Ikea Ektorp sectional with White slipcovers in the sunroom at our airbnb/vrbo vacation rental. We have 2 covers so things can be swapped/cleaned as needed but since IKEA no longer makes 100% cotton slipcovers & the new ones can’t be bleached I wanted to protect our old version for as long as possible. Its sunroom location is directly off the pool area which means its heavily used and requires CONSTANT stain treatment & washing. This is life and we’re happy people enjoy are enjoying their vacation but it does get exhausting pre-treating & removing stains every 4-7 days. A lot of the issues seemed to come from wet bathing suits, suntan oils, and drink spills so I figured waterproofing might prevent wet suit color transfer & allow guests time to clean up spills before they soak in. So far this has done an AMAZING job at prolonging the time between washings!! I haven't noticed any change to the fabrics color, feel, or durability after using this religiously. A few of the cushions did develop some yellow areas that bleach hasn’t taken out but I don't know if that's a result of using this for over a year or if it was caused by a guest. —TIPS / STEPS— These are steps I’ve found work best for our use. 1. Transfer product into HEAVY DUTY spray bottle (such as those found at Home Depot) •Low-quality sprayers deteriorate after 1st use 2. Launder Items 1-2 days prior to treatment: •Treat stains w/ shout •Use as LITTLE un-scented detergent possible •2nd Wash: Just Borax & Vinegar •2 Rinse Cycles •Dryer *The manufacturers online info is very specific about the product only working if there’s NO residual product leftover in fabric. Yes...it's exhausting, but its made a HUGE difference in how well this works compared to just applying after normal wash/dry. 3. Lay down clean cotton drop-cloth in driveway & place clean items on top. 4. Put on gloves & a respirator/mask if sensitive to fumes. Also make sure no animals or children are nearby while spraying. *See bottom for further info about why this is important* 5. Spray 1st side thoroughly. •Paying special attention to the edges & piping since these areas collect dirt & color quickest. 6. Allow items to dry in sun for remaineder of the afternoon 7. After they’ve fully dried I place them in a sterile bag & put it in the garage overnight. 8. The next morning I Repeat steps 3-6 for the opposite side. •It’s entirely possible to do both sides in a single day...but I’ve found the chemical off-gassing lingers FAR LESS TIME if each side is sprayed & allowed to sun-bake for at least 5 hours before treating the opposite side. **GLOVES, MASK & NO ANIMAL / CHILDREN** Yes, there’s a very strong chemical smell that lasts 8+ hours. This is due to the ‘odorless mineral spirits’ content which is used as a carrier to help the waterproofing to penetrate into the fabric fibers. However unlike the name implies, OMS is far from odorless. So, PLEASE BE SURE to use this: •Outdoors in a well ventilated area •Away from all Animals & Children •Plenty of daylight time to allow for the mineral spirits to evaporate/off-gas. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ For the sunroom we also use a Dash & Albert indoor/outdoor rug on top of the large jute rug, this has been a lifesaver and worth its weight in gold when trying to keep a rental spotless! It allows spills to be easily cleaned or even bleached out when necessary. We’ve spot treated between guests & removed to fully bleach during spring cleaning...both options are quick and easy with any stains coming right up. *Since posting the original review above I’ve also started using this on the rentals drop-cloth cabana style curtains on the outdoor pergola. Although we don’t see a lot of rainfall here in San Diego....the overnight condensation and random rainstorms meant they would only last 4-5 months before mildew & mold could no longer be bleached out and they needed replaced. After putting 4 new ones up I sprayed front/back to see if it might slow mildew. It worked well initially but after about 2 months it seemed to accelerate the issue since the new curtains were heavily spotted with mildew while the old bleached ones weren’t. This may be due to my quick spray rather than following the guidelines I use for the slipcovers. The drop cloths are heavily bleached before making the curtains so this residue + treatment might have made a bad combo. I plan to try again while following the slipcover steps to see if it works better, will update my review if so.

It works as advertised. And although expensive. It's worth the money
After tons of research. I used this product on a convertible car top. The top is canvas twill material that is original and is 22 years old. The top is not perfect due to age and Arizona sun. I used the 303 cleaner first. I put on two coats of the protectant using a new 4 inch sponge paint roller vs a brush. I'd strongly advise. If you use this in a garage. You use a good fan or fans at hood or work bench level blowing against the car. As the product has a very strong chemical smell. And the instructions say to avoid breathing the fumes. There are other products out there that are basically mouse milk and snake oil. If SUNBRELLA endorses it. That makes it a huge plus. Not a cheap product to buy. But it works.
