Ignore the negative reviews. These are water conditioners that do the whole house not just one appliance. They do not soften the water though, maybe the negative reviewers were expecting that?? These work by changing the limescale at a molecular level. The result is that the limescale will still be present in the water and will still leave water marks but rather than them being very hard & crusty they are soft and with normal cleaning they come off. The key to this is to look at British Standards requirements for a water conditioner to be installed with a combi boiler; that would not be required by BS if they "did nothing". I have not bought one from Amazon, I do not work for them but I am looking to buy one for an installation I am doing. Hope this helps.

I have had one of these installed for over a year, it makes no difference whatsoever. Don't waste your money.
