These smoke alarms are easy to install.

I hung it in my garage. When I started my generator for a few seconds to check it before hurricane season in my garage (with the door open) it went off in 2 seconds. Very sensitive to carbon monoxide. (Of course I put the generator outside when I run it.)

Went up easily and fast.

This detector was ready to go even before it was installed, beeping in the hands of my handyman!! It has been quiet ever since!! Good device!!

I returned these , and got the older version like i had . Better price than the older ver. , but i would have to change the base for it to work in my application .

Unfortunately within a month and a half (of course after the 30 day window to return) starting getting the "3 chirps" every minute which meant it had malfunctioned and says to replace alarm. Can't replace it, so have to eat the full cost of it $42.95. Yes, tried different brands of batteries, used compressed air (for computers) so I know that didn't damage it further. This one is the combo smoke and CO alarm, had purchased a regular smoke alarm, which I received two days after this one, both First Alert and absolutely no issues. First Alert makes good products, guess I was just luck enough to get a not so good one :(
