Most books are either too basic or filed with mistakes, and this is by far the best-- it's grade-appropriate, well-organized, and includes a few examples to help the adult doing the instruction. It could also be used as a stand-alone by a highly independent student who will actually read the examples and not skip over them. Is this perfect? No, but what is? I feel like my son is well prepared for high school after using this book. As a side note, we used this book in seventh grade simply because he was ahead of the standards for his grade. It would work for either grade. I would not use this if the student is needing remedial help, though. Review: Good learning material - Very useful, daily practice makes a lot of difference
