Tubbs: Industrial & Scientific Review: Not very good for newbies - The book is based in examples and cover a wide range of typical application but if you are really new at the use of S7/200 you will not be able to do much, also I wish there was a list of commands because I could not find the specific information I was looking for. Other way is good as a general introduction to the s7/200. Review: Four Stars - It is a good book and I recommend for any body!

Siemens S7-200 by Stephen Tubbs
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Tutorial, Siemens Simatic S7-200 This book gives good basic programming examples using Ladder Logic on the Siemens S7-200 PLC. Programming instructions covered are: contacts, coils, timers, counters, shift, rotate, FirstIn FirstOut tables. Each project is clearly explained and the ladder logic includes thorough network comments. Each project also includes a wiring diagram to show the inputs and outputs. This is a good starting text to learn the functions available on the Siemens S7-200 and how to apply them.

ok book
This book is very basic. And only a very simple overview. It is definitely not for an advanced user. I would not recommended unless you have no idea how a plc works

A good start if you want to get to grips with Siemens, Sadly there's hardly any books out there which cover the S7 300 range which is what I really wanted but this does provide some clever programming examples which is easier to understand than written explanations. It does leave you with as many questions you had before you started because it is still difficult to understand data addressing etc and not really clear on how to input the info into the various functions but to be fair this book covers the S7200 to be programmed with microwin, I'm using Simatic manager to work with S7 300 so I can't really expect it to explain. Overall I'm not sorry I bought it, it's not expensive and some of the examples are certainly helpful

For beginners only really, if you want to get into PLC I suggest reading through all the official material supplied by any PLC manufacturer such as siemens. And study anything on computer programming principles for a good start.
