It was OK
Not as good as her 'Better than the Movies' series but still a sweet enough Rom-Com book to escape in. Written in duel narrative which is great because books in the romance are always usually from the female perspective. I just wish it switched perspectives every chapter instead of every few. I would have liked to have read more from Charlie's perspective to explain his behaviour better. Painter also writes beautifully from a male perspective in 'Nothing like the Movies' which adds a richness and depth to the Wes.

such a cute book!!
Just read the book! it’s so cute and such a good read. I fell in love with charlie along the way, confused why people liked him, but realizing that he is perfect. All the characters were so perfect for their positions.

the Lynn painter feels are back babyyy ✌️
I’m a sucker for strangers to friends to lovers and this DELIVERED. i was so happy that it was dual pov!!! their friendship was so built up, they really knew everything about eachother and when charlie called them ‘friends’ I GRINNED. the roadtrip was for sure my favourite part!!! i loved that they worked together too! charlie had such sarcastic dry humor and he was so funny 😭🫶🏼 i liked that she was like relatable in the things she liked, such as having a bookstagram, listening to Taylor swift, reading books, without it being over the top or overly quirky. seeing bailey navigate her feeling towards her mums new relationship and troubles with her dad was great too. i liked that charlie was a part of that too. AND HES A CAT DAD 😮💨 the only thing that stopped it being 5 stars was the third act break up. other than that it was so much fun. loved her best friend too!

This book gives you all the feels of a 2000s Rom-com. I love Lynn Painter, she makes you feel so connected to the characters and their story that it’s hard to put down the book.

So cute, so funny and so.. realistic.
That book just pure happiness. So cute, so funny and so.. realistic. Life doesn't always has "happily ever after" and magically acceptance of new reality, and books that usually put that in their end make it unrealistically sweet. But this book – this book feels more real life than anything, and I love it
