Major Bass
First let's start with my gripes. The fact i can't turn it on through the app or through Bluetooth is super inconvenient. My other small speaker from Bose can do that, why can't this!? Now let's get to everything great about it. It's loud, it's bass is superior to that of the equivalent Sony boombox. The highs mids lows, all great clear quality at any level even at max. I love the lights. The equalizer in the app is easy to use and very customizable for any music taste. I have to turn off bass up while at home because it definitely will annoy the neighbors, that's not a bad thing at all. I've used it in the car, it is better than the car stereo system. The price is way more affordable than the competition and I appreciate that a lot; I wasn't going to spend $700 plus on a portable boombox. The build quality is solid and the fact it floats and is waterproof, that's a huge plus. I definitely recommend this over other brands, big bang for the buck here. Battery life is perfect, I don't use it for more than an hour at a time, one charge lasts a month for me. It doesn't work well with my pc unfortunately, it has audio delay but I think that's the pc not the speaker. It's very portable and the strap is nice to have, I just wish it had some padding.

A Speaker to Surpass the Stormbox Blast
They did it. The first Motion Boom Plus was thier best overall sounding speaker with the most bass, but it couldn't quite match the Tribit Stormbox Blast. I can say now that thanks to its larger size and bigger power output, this speaker is the new favorite in town. It's got deeper, bigger bass and can get a lot louder than the Blast. Highs and mids can both be adjusted to your preference so those are pretty much the same. Slightly fuller sound thanks to bigger woofers with a higher power output. 140w vs 90w peak. It weighs less than the Blast and I think looks a little better too. Never cared for the led lights on the front of the Blast. There are about 8 different lighting options each with the ability to choose a custom color pallette and you can dim or turn them off completely. Compared to Soundcore's other offerings, it is of course the king of litter this size or below. I was a little surprised how much bigger and little heavier it is than the original Boom Plus, so might be something to consider. If you are looking for a more portable speaker the new Boom 2 is an impressive alternative. Nothing else will rumble your surroundings as much as the Boom 2 Plus though. The only speaker that does something better in my opinion would be the X600. Because of the way the speakers are angled it really does an amazing job of giving an open soundstage I haven't found in any other single bluetooth speaker. The price of $250 for this speaker does feel maybe a tad high considering I can get the Stormbox Blast for $200 or less (I got mine for $150 on sale), but it is still less than say the JBl Boombox or Sony Ult Field 7 for roughly the same performance. It also looks and feels quite a bit more premium than first Boom Plus. Overall while the price might be a tad higher than what I'm used to from Soundcore, it's bigger more premium all around speaker than the original with sound quality a bass output that beats the Blast. I highly recommend.

Great speaker!
Absolutely amazing speaker, especially for the price. I paid $165 for it, and honestly it delivers way more than I expected. I own a lot of Bluetooth speakers, and if I had to place this one on the scale, I’d put it right in the middle between the JBL Xtreme 4 and the JBL Boombox 3 Wi-Fi in terms of loudness and overall presence. It’s definitely louder than the Xtreme 4 and has more bass, but it’s not quite on the level of the Boombox 3 Wi-Fi. The sound quality is very good for the price, although a little muddy compared to JBL’s cleaner tuning. Still, when you factor in cost versus performance, it’s honestly an incredible value. The light show isn’t really my thing, but my 5-year-old absolutely loves it, so that’s a bonus. All around, fantastic speaker for the money. Highly recommend.

Pairing up to 100 simultaneously is game changing technology
So I must say that this portable Bluetooth speaker, on its own for the price, is incredible in every way. The sound is full, deep, rich, and also has vibrant clarity to it. I love that these are waterproof...I've left these outside after a party when it rained and had no problem with them afterward. The battery lasts several long uses. I seem to go a long while between charges. I said "left these outside" before because I actually have 4 of these. And I have 4 boom plus's. The most transformative, game-changing feature is the ability for you to connect to up to 100 at the same time. Seriously. Gaming changing. The sound experience when you hook up several of these and surround yourself in an array of perfectly in sync sound is wild. I was having a party last summer in my back yard. I was considering getting a DJ... considering having a friend's band play. But since I had 1 boom plus and 2 boom 2 plus's already, I decided to get the others and experiment. I positioned them at the perimeter of my back yard. The sound quality, clarity, everything... Standing in the middle of this was sooo cool. You create an acoustic situation where the music is very present and seemingly flying around you, while also being able to have uninhibited conversations.

Great low and mid frequency response
I have played with some low, mid and high frequency sound to check how this speaker response against the actual frequency. In one word, wow!!! Impressed. You have to keep it in mind that anything lower than 45hz, that is difficult to hear for human being. I have started sound checking from 30hz and I felt it, unbelievable. Then I played 40hz, I was able hear the sound and felt huge vibration on my table. Also saw the passive radiator's dancing. Then tested up to 150hz. All the responses was near perfect. I have another sound system, that is a combination of 2 KRK Rokit 7 G4 and 1 very powerful SVS SB-1000 Pro Sealed subwoofer. So it was easy to compare these tests for me. This speaker has a great option i.e. Custom EQ. You can tune the sound by the mobile App. Very useful. I suggest to use the custom EQ with Bass boost on. So what I like: 1. A complete low frequency response which down to 40hz as advertise. Of course this thing is really excellent for those who loves bass or beat or base whatever you call it. 2. Perfect mid tone, although not top notch. 3. Highs are also excellent, again not top notch. But you cannot expect too much from such a small box as well as budget. 4. Excellent battery life, although I didn't test all the way. But after using couple of hours, I didn't notice any fall of the battery bar. Superb. 5. I didn't check water proof capabilities. But seems greatly sealed. 6. Solid construction and of course light weight. Finally, the seller, they are really responsive and caring. I returned 1st one due to App connectivity issue via Bluetooth and ordered another one. When I ordered 1st one, there was promotional offer for getting Anker 30watt charger with no cost. But I forgot to include that one in my cart. I contacted the seller. Seller already sent me the charger separately, although when I ordered second time, at time there was no any promotional offer. Thanks to the seller for the great service. Final words, if you look for a portable all rounder speaker with great bass, very good to excellent clarity, excellent battery life under $400, this time, I do not see any alternative. 100% recommended.

Satisfied but not impressed
Decent speaker but not perfect. I got mine for $174 on black Friday 2025 and that feels like a fair price. Quality is decent. Speaker feels solid and well built. I've used the strap that it comes with frequently and it has bounced off of various hard surfaces rather hard and it takes the hits like a champ. Not too heavy not too bulky. Relatively easy to take around and use on the go especially with the strap it comes with. Sound quality is decent. There is a really nice equalizer setting on the app and it offers amazing adjustments but I don't have the ear or patience to set that up so I use their "soundcore premium" preset with bass boost and it works for me. Thats where the sound quality dives for me though. You really need the bass boost for the speaker to sound good. Otherwise you'll be staring at it wondering why such a big speaker sounds so weak. On the other hand if you plan on turning it up really loud you have to turn the bass boost off because you'll blow the speakers. That hasn't happened to mine but I did turn up a bass heavy trance song all the way one time and could hear the sub cracking and popping from overuse. Haven't used the bass boost and high volume at the same time since. The sound quality without bass boost does get decent at high volumes though. Just remember to turn off bass boost before turning up. Battery is a disappointment. 20 hour life advertised but I get about 9 to 15 hours. Around 13 hours with volume at 50% or less, lights off and bass boost on and battery life varies heavily depending on how loud I play it. That turnout isn't bad but I work 10 hour shifts and if I don't mind the volume it won't last the 10 hours. Bummer for me since I wanted to just use it and not worry about it but instead I have to mind the volume and I worry if it'll make it to the end of shift some days. Bluetooth connectivity works as expected. No issues with dropping connection and connects right away. Overall I wouldn't pay $1 over $200 for it if I just had to have it. I'm satisfied with it but not impressed. I would have definitely returned it if I paid the $250 retail for it but at the $174 I paid its a decent speaker. It's a good jack of all trades speaker but you gotta take care to not be too hard on the speakers with the bass boost. I've had mine for around 3 months now and it still sounds good and battery is still holding up. Long term reliability is still up in the air though so time will tell on that.

My thoughts after 17 months
I have been using this speaker every day since May of 2024. (I preordered it) It is yet to disappoint me. Out of the box, it sounds okay, but if you just take a little time to set a custom eq, which can be very easily done with the full-band eq adjustment in the sound core app, and tune it to your preferences, it sounds better than the JBL Boombox 4 in my opinion. I have used it daily around the house when I want some good sounding music with good bass, on the lake and at pools (on the poolside, boat, or floating in the water), on bike rides, skiing in -15° weather, and it’s still going strong. It has shown no damage or issues with durability and the only signs of use are some scuffs. It has plenty of bass and clarity with the EQ I have set and has very low latency in the audio (I’ve used it for movies, gaming, etc.). It also has strong connectivity pretty far away (not sure exact numbers). Movies, bass heavy music, and sad music are the main things I use this speaker for and it has fully replaced the jbl boombox in my daily routine. The speaker packs a punch for its size, but don’t expect it to be concert level volume outdoors. It is loud enough to hear it down the street and pushes plenty of power for a decent while.

Bass Hits Hard
In my opinion this unit's all about bass. It sounds great regardless but the bass hits so hard I can feel it from over 20 ft away. I'm ready for a bigger unit though, or double it and give it to the next guy. Things I'd like to see in a future editions is the ability to have the BassUp be part of the EQ settings. Also the ability to scroll through my preset EQs on the unit itself. I can turn it off on the app but not on. A remote control would be a nice touch as well.
