Review: Perfect moth trap lamp - I bought this to replace a UV blacklight I had been using for years in my home made moth trap. My average catch at my current address, using the old blacklight had been around 10-20 moths a night. I tried this actinic lamp last night (in slightly less than ideal weather conditions)and was nearly overwhelmed with the size of the catch this morning. Obviously it's never going to match a mercury vapour trap, but if, like me you can't use one of those for fear of disturbing the neighbours, this lamp will bring in enough moths to keep you happy.

**Q: I've just bought this light, but moth season is unfortunately over, I was wondering does this light catch only a few or does it attract lots of them.**
A: It will entirely depend on your location and habitat. This type of lamp is good for gardens as it is not overly bright. So shouldn't disturb neighbors. Temperature and weather also affect the catch. It has brought in good numbers of moths in my trap.
