More coffee per espresso grounds
Great fit for Casabrews espresso machine. Download the compatibility sheet for best fit. I wash the water tank every week and the round filter after every use. Filter quality is approved 👌. Great value for money. Works well and leakage is expected so use it in an easy to clean area. Using a wider cup allows for the leak to fall inside to maximize the espresso shots. 🙏

Be aware of what you are buying.
The media could not be loaded. Love my casabrews portafilter. Its very important to understand that you are buying a professional portafilter. I am a beginner barista and have mastered the art of coffee making so far. Im not perfect... but there is skill involved in espresso making. This portafilter is bottomless, which means if you do not prep your coffee the right way... it will spray everywhere and the quality will be bad. A bottomless portafilter is like a manual transmission! You cant expect it to drive on its own... you have to use the clutch... shift gears, Hence why it will not just "automatically" make your espresso shot. If you want a automatic espresso shot "maker" use the portafilter that your espresso machine came with (pressurized basket) which is easy since you dont have to do much. But if you wish to use the bottomless portafilter you will have to start grinding your own coffee beans... invest in a tamper, distributer, weight your coffee ect... for your shot to come out amazing.

Solid product
I'll try to keep it brief. This product looks much better than the portafilter that comes with the machine and is much more aesthetic.Fit: I've seen some comments saying it doesn't fit well, but I've found it goes in pretty smoothly. Although, I did notice it's a tiny bit off-center with the handle going slightly to the right.Extraction: I'm fairly new to espresso making, so you can see my first extraction was a little uneven. I went down to 13 grams of coffee from 15 for 2 shots and made it a little coarser (I think 0.9 on the Chestnut hand grinder). The results can be seen in the second extraction photo. I'm pretty sure I can go even coarser as my extraction ran a little long.Tools used with the product: These are the tools I used to improve my experience:1. A scale and dosing cup for precise weight.2. Hand grinder with a conical burr.3. Magnetic dosing funnel to keep grinds from going everywhere during the next step.4. WDT tool to prevent channeling.5. Coffee distributor to even the grounds.6. Self-leveling tamper for even tamping.7. Lastly, a puck screen (comes with the portafilter).

It took me like 6 attempts to make it work
You were probably like me and got it because it looks great. Well it does, many times better than the one that comes with the CASABREWS 20 bar expresso machine (CM5418).But then I was ready to put 1 star because it sprayed, extracted without crema, and also fits but it lays a bit to the right for some reason. Then I read reviews, checked the information put by the manufacturer about how to deal with spraying, and until I used my finest grind in my burr grinder, and leveled the coffee well, I got a successfull extraction with crema and lovely taste... finally!TLDR: Get your grind to the finest possible, make several attemps and there you go.

No crema and the coffee is spraying everywhere
I ordered one for Christmas and it never arrived, when I called again over a week later they sent a replacement. It is beautiful but no crema at all! I got it because I wasn’t crazy about the plastic bottom of the original one that came with the machine. In addition to flat coffee with now crema at all, it goes all over the place.

Makes great shots, but a pain to use
I got this to upgrade the pressurized portafilter that came with my Casabrew 3700 Essential. It fits snuggly in the machine and pours great shots- so long as I do proper puck prep, there's been no splattering or spraying like other people claim. HOWEVER, the portafilter does not lay flat and is a huggge pain to fill, WDT, and tamper (and I have an elevated portafilter mat). The actual cup of the basket is also weakly magnetic, so my dosing funnel holds poorly, unlike with the default portafilter, which holds well.In the machine, it works so well- and looks beautiful, but the whole process leading up is frustrating. 3/5

A good upgrade on your Casabrews and a level up on your espresso skills
I was getting tired of the standard issue portafilter that it came with my Casabrews machine. Bottomless portafilters have a high learning curve for home baristas, but these will give you feedback on your coffee beans, grind size, puck prep, and extraction time. For those who are getting into espresso for the first time and is considering a bottomless portafilter for quality espresso, you will need to upgrade or need the following:-Freshly roasted coffee beans instead of using pre-grinded coffee grounds (check the roast date, usually it should be within a month that you should be buying as using). Medium Roast is the standard, but you can experiment with other roasts as you go.-Adjustable Conical Burr coffee grinder (grinds will need to be consistent)-WDT Tools (Stirring tool, Distribution tool, and Tamper tool)-Coffee scale and timer (This will help you measure your beans and time your espresso shot)-Dousing cup & mister (This will serve as a measuring vassal for your beans and the mister helps preventing coffee grinds from clinging on your grinder)The equipment mentioned above should at least reduce the chances of your portafilter spraying. If it does keeping on spraying, consider your coffee beans or spend time on understanding more on WDT. Will buy again
