Silent countdown. Ultra simple to use. Elegant black case, attractive multi-coloured numerals.
Although I have an expensive smart watch and several other digital appliances, I prefer to use a single function timer to measure my morning coffee's 5 minute brewing period etc. This is a simple one hour timer. To my grief, my wind-up timer recently died, but already I am loving my rainbow timer for its simplicity, silent countdown, elegant black case and mood-raising colourful numerals. First thing in the morning the last thing I want is a digital challenge. Also, using my smartwatch will reduce still further the time elapsing (already too short) before I have to take it off and re-charge it. My old mechanical timer was ecologically superior in that it required no batteries or energy other than my own, but I already have lots of AAA rechargeable batteries and I don't expect to have to recharge these very often. (If I get a nasty surprise, I will update.)Initially I was alarmed that the Rainbow timer makes no sound whatever as it counts down. I thought maybe it was not working, but no such thing. Now I am used to it I enjoy the peace. It sounds when it reaches its goal. You have the option of 3 volume levels or none plus a flashing light. You can also choose between a ring duration of 3 or 30 seconds. Really, Secura have thought of everything.Providing the Rainbow timer wears reasonably well, the current price of £11.99 seems to me reasonable, particularly as you benefit from Free Returns.

Handy gadget to have
This timer is great for kids to help with baking, eating or getting ready to go out. My daughter takes so long to do anything we have found this a helping hand to understand about time keeping and completing tasks. The timer has a flattened base which helps it to stand up straight and it will not topple over easily. The numbers are easy to read, and the sun image is an added visual element so they can seen the time going down. The batteries are not provided, it takes 2 x AAA. The battery cover is not protected so it only requires a thumb nail to lift up the flap which is not ideal or safe for small children to use. There are two switches under the battery cover- one to change the level of sound for the alarm and the over for the alarm to sound for 3 seconds or 30 seconds. On the top of the timer there is a pause button which can also be pressed to stop the alarm when it goes off. When the button on the top is used to pause the timer a red light flashes on the front of the clock face.I didn't think it worked at first as the timer is silent and I couldn't see the sun dial going down. However, it does work. I tested it against the google assistant timer for 5 minutes and the alarms went off at the same time and the dial did go down its just not that obvious as a ticking hand.It is a handy gadget to have and my daughter really likes using it.

Stnds firm and easy to read at a glance
The flattened base means that a slight knock won't overbalance it. The large numbers on a plain white background are easy to read, and the use of a coloured segment to keep a record of time remaining is a great advantage to anyone with very poor vision, who can use this as a guide instead of the numbers. The AAA batteries are not provided (tightwads) but I always keep a good supply at home. The alarm is clear, but not audible outside the room. There's a choice of colours for those who are bothered by such things. It's a simple machine so should have a long life. Very good.

This is a nice timer...
This is a nice 60 minute timer, aimed presumably at kids.At time of ordering, it was just under the £12 mark, and that's fine for what it is. It is somewhat different in design to other timers, and that's a good thing, as it make sit more engaging for kids. It's slightly difficult to set up initially from the instructions, but if you stick with it, you'll get the hang of it.We use it in a Primary School setting for timing tasks, and it works fine, and the kids enjoy it too.

An appealing and useful little timer
This is an appealing little timer that – as well as being useful for adults – could also help develop a better sense and understanding of time in youngsters. It’s easy to operate, the numbers and minute intervals are easy to read, and it stands nicely on a flat surface. I’m hoping that, in particular, that it may be helpful for my 3-year-old autistic granddaughter to better appreciate the passage of time.

Time
Had two of these and neither seem to work. They're battery powered (not supplied). This is the slghtly more "complex" model, having a pause button and flashing light to show when the timer is paused.According to the instructions you simply set the dial on the face of the timer for the desired amount of time you wish to count, and it then begins to count down with the dial moving accordingly. I placed new batteries into the unit and followed the instructions exactly. And nothing happened. With the minimal design giving only a pause button, I'm at a loss to understand why this doesn't work.1 star..

Fab timer for up to 60 mins
This is a great timer which I can use with my son to count down. We use it for homework and music practice so he knows how long he has left. It is very visual. It is also easy to use. You turn the dial to the required time and it starts to count back. An alarm sounds for 3 or 30 seconds (you can choose) at the end. Good value for £11.99

Not loud but easy to use.
My timer does what it’s supposed too.I needed to find batteries as these are not included. The timer then is easy to use.I turned the dial and waited. The sound isn’t loud so I wouldn’t hear from another room. The picture does make the passing time much easier to see.My timer works well.

Works as intended
A timer is a timer. This works as intended and is simple to operate: Adjust the desired alarm length, turn the knob to the desired time and press the button to turn off the alarm. Visually speaking, it's easy to ready and simple to operate for our youngers kids.

The media could not be loaded. Cute timer that can be used outside of the kitchen and the images are visually engagin with the rainbow, sun and the colourful numbers on the timer. Great to help the kids stay on track with their timing as well as understand better the concept of having timed-tasks. Good pricing at 15.99

Super helpful for potty training
I initially got this for potty training me youngest. It worked great. He loved watching the sun disappear and then getting to shut it off. He learned fast when he heard the timer it was time to sit on the potty and it wasn't a fight every time!I've also found it really helps my middle when he can visually see how much time is left before quiet time is over or it's time to leave. It cuts down on a lot of questions cause he knows to just look at the timer. For some reason my oldest also likes it for shower time. He frequently asked me to set the timer for him. 🤷🏼♀️ whatever kid. Lol

Cute timer
This is a cute timer and it works good but I would like it better if it made noise as it counted down. I bought it to help my autistic grandson with Transitions but the only sound it makes is beeping when time is up so he isn't really getting that it's counting down.If you just need the time is up sound, this will work perfectly for you!
