I got this easel as a Christmas gift for my best friend, and she absolutely loves it! She’s been looking for something versatile that could work as both a tabletop easel and a portable option for outdoor painting, and this was perfect.What really stood out to me was how functional it is. The built-in storage is a game changer—it keeps all her brushes, paints, and supplies organized and within reach, whether she’s working indoors or outdoors. The adjustable height and angle make it super easy for her to find a comfortable position, and the craftsmanship is top-notch.She’s already used it both at home and at her favorite park, and it’s held up beautifully. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, practical gift for an artist in your life, I can’t recommend this easel enough. It’s functional, durable, and a total joy to use!

When it came out of the box, most of the fittings were loose and had to be tightened. If you've never had a French easel, you might need to spend some time figuring it out (like how to take out the drawer, for example: push all the way back then lift it out. You can't slide it out).The two front legs don't click into the easel as solidly as I'd like and one leg does not always want to stay against the easel when it's carried - so I have to finesse the wingnuts to get them just right (if someone only had a bicycle style "adjust-and-flip" lever... but the Impressionists didn't have them so why should we? After all, it's a French easel, probably similar to what the Impressionists lugged around a long time ago. The design has not changed much since then. We're in the 21st century, but nobody wants to improve on the basic design for some reason. Wobbly legs, fussy screws and weight are all traits of French easels, and this one is better than most. Wing nuts are easier to replace then fancy knobs when they fall off, and easier to tighten. The built-in level (bubble) is genius. The partitions are adjustable, another good thing - this let me fit my brushes, paints and a skinny watercolor palette inside the box so I have less stuff to carry. Overall, for a French easel this is a good one.

Bought this after seeing the outrageous prices of easels at Michaels.... Overall I am happy with this easel, I'd recommend buying it.Pros:- Relatively lightweight. It is easy to carry/transport.- Folds beautifully, super good design- The ruler on the legs and the level on the easel makes it easy to set up correctly and straight.- Lots of storage area- fits more than you think.Couple of cons:- Without the palette placed at the top, everything in the storage areas gets jumbled around when transported as the lid is way taller than the divisions. I don't use the wooden palette, it is inconvenient to carry it around just for the purpose of making sure everything stays in place.- I found it pretty stable, although I wouldn't put too heavy of a load on it. If you paint/draw with a lot of force, it will wobble. That is to be expected though, with such thin legs.- Too tall! I am a short person (5'), and I like my feet touching the floor when I am sitting..... except the easel simply doesn't go that low! That is a me problem though.

I am absolutely IN LOVE with this French easel! This is a Chic dream. Not only is it great for painting but it's also fantastic as decoration. I can keep my very basic painting by numbers on the easel in the corner of my bedroom and it looks like an actual artwork in process. This is very well made with top quality wood. The drawer has great space for many brushes and even long professional ones. The legs may seem flimsy, but trust me, they are not. This would make the most incredible gift for anyone that likes vintage pieces also.

I’m an artist. This is a well made easel. It holds a good size canvas. I bought 2 of these for my grand daughters, so I could teach them to paint. I will be getting another one for myself.

this is amazing - sturdy has case for tripod and art box - I bought one for me and one for my son - well known Fine artist and muralist - he loves it - so thats an amazing feed back - I post photo with his first use
