Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Vol. 1

Pretty good read!

Love this manga series. Can't wait for the anime to come to tv.

I grew up with Naruto on Viz’s Shonen Jump, so cracking open Two Blue Vortex felt a little like meeting old friends after years apart—only to realize they’ve all leveled up. The four-year jump drops you straight into high stakes: Boruto is older, sharper, and carrying serious weight on his shoulders. Even if you’ve been away from the series for a while, the opening recap gets you oriented in a page or two before the new threat barrels in. Ikemoto’s art has vaulted forward—dynamic panel layouts, razor-clean line work, and fight choreography that’s easy to follow even when the jutsu get wild. Printed on bright, gloss-free stock, every speed line and screentone looks crisp; no muddiness in the deep blacks. At 184 pages it flies by, but there’s enough meat to satisfy: fresh character designs, hints of new power systems, and cameos from the adults who once headlined the story. The paperback itself feels sturdy, with a spine that flexes without cracking and ink that doesn’t smudge under sweaty thumbs during an all-night read. My only gripe is having to wait months for Volume 2—the cliffhanger all but guarantees a pre-order. If you bailed on the early Boruto arcs or just want a slick shōnen book to devour in one sitting, this is the perfect re-entry point.

The time skip has been so good and I’m loving every second of it.
