It offers the premium Philips Hue color quality at a lower price point than their standard "Lightstrip Plus," but it has one major limitation you need to know before buying. Incredible Brightness: At 1700 lumens, this is significantly brighter than cheap alternatives like Govee or generic Amazon brands. It’s bright enough to be the primary light source in a dark room, not just "mood lighting." True Colors (RGBWW): This is a "White and Color Ambiance" strip. It has dedicated white LEDs, so you get actual warm soft white (2700K) or daylight cool white (4000K) for reading, rather than that weird blueish-purple white you get from cheaper RGB strips. Bluetooth Ready: You don't need the Hue Bridge hub to use it. You can control it directly from your phone via Bluetooth right out of the box. Value: It is cheaper than the standard "Lightstrip Plus V4" kit, making it a great entry point into the Hue ecosystem. NOT Extendable: Unlike the standard Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus, the "Solo" model cannot be extended. There are no pins at the end to plug in an extension. If you buy the 10ft version and realize you actually needed 12ft, you are out of luck. You cannot add to it. I recently got a larger 77” LG OLED tv and installed this for backlighting. The process was very easy and it looks great. As a precaution I did add extra adhesive strips at the corners where I made small loops to change directions (thanks to a YT video for the suggestion to use make loops). The app is very easy to use and has lots of options.

Installed under cabinet lighting in the kitchen. 1. The lights are bright and awesome to control from the hue app. The colors are vibrant and it has multiple scene selections (included by default or you can make your own). 2. TBD on the adhesive behind the strips as I just got them. 3. The lights are extremely responsive to the app (connects via Bluetooth) and there is almost no lag Cons (took off one star because of these below) 1. These are expensive when compared to others. 2. No physical switch on the strip. So if grandma wants to switch them on or off - she has to either figure out the app or wait for someone else to do it. Have to buy a separate Bluetooth switch (more $$) 3. Installed the app on other phones in the family and logged in using my id - it has no recognition of the already connected lights. Asks for setup again even though the lights are already registered in my name/id on the app. I am hoping this is user error and not missing basic functionality. 4. The GE cync strip lights show up right in Apple home. These don’t and you need the hue hub (more $$) Overall I’d say these are better than the cync just because of the brightness and color vibrancy. I recommend them.

Love this lightstrip - the only thing I dislike is the adhesive pad is not strong enough to hold 16 ft of lightstrip. Even with proper surface cleaning, it will eventually fall off. But the light itself is awesome. I've been having fun playing with the Hue Sync to have it change lighting with music videos, movies and especially games. Great product. Awesome range of colors and brightness. I would buy another strip even though I don't need it to link it and go across another wall.

The Philips Hue line of products is top tier. Setup with the hub takes no-time and quickly. LED quality is also unmatched. The Hue products are pricey but for the quality they will perform.

these are great, so far i have not had any significant issues with the adhesive peeling off. i guess it depends on where you stick them (stuck mine on the back of my ikea desk) its really easy to connect them to the hue app via bluetooth, and once you do so its easy to change the color, brightness, and speed of changing colors.

Have several Hue lights. This light strip is terrific on the stairs at night. Love that I can choose the colour and set the timer )need the hub for that). Really like these products.
