Works great. Fantastic bargain.
I have an old Technic SL-Q200 turntable from the 1980's and a crate of old vinyl records that I am enjoying once more thanks to this little preamp.It took less than two minutes to set it up. Plug in the power port. Then connect the turntable to the input line of the preamp and the output line of the preamp to your amplifier's¹ (or receiver's) AUX input port via two sets of RCA cables. Power on your pream, amplifier/receiver, and turntable. That's all you need.I lost the ground wire to my turntable who-knows-when; but, I get zero hum or buzz. I tested both left and right speaker and they sound perfectly balanced. Before the preamp, I turned the amplifiers volume to 10 and barely heard albums played on the turntable. With the preamp, I only need to turn the volume to 2 to fill my living room with easy listening level of music. I can still crank up the volume with no distortion fro the preamp.I know there's a bunch of negative reviews for this Pyle Preamp, but luckily, I've seen none of those complaints in my preamp. Maybe they received defective units. Granted, I'm no audiophile, but I do enjoy good music. This Pyle Preamp allows me to enjoy my vinyl record collection once more.¹Update: I just realized that you can plug the preamp output port directly to powered speakers thus bypassing the amplifier. So instead of connecting to bookshelf speakers via an amplifier, I connect directly to a speakerbar. My Samsung speaker bar has an analog RCA input port. How convenient for de cluttering the entertainment area of 3 pieces of equipment. Now I can get rid of the amplifier and bookshelf speakers!

Preamp works great, but battery option doesn't last long
Very satisfied, would purchase again.I used this preamp because my new amplifier didn't come with a built in preamp which is needed for amplifying a turntable.This Pyle preamp comes with two powering options - a plug in cord and an option to use a 9 volt battery.The amp works great with either option - sound is crisp and clear - but when using the battery option, the battery lasts only a few days.I'm OK with the short battery life because I only used to to make sure the preamp worked properly before running the plug-in wires through the cabinet.
