Another excellent resource from YPT
Book came in the mail early and in perfect condition. The content is exactly what I was looking for – effectice management recommendations on many of the most common ailments via both medical & yogic perspectives.Dr. Swami Karamananda's writing is clear, concise and quite readable. The tone is very knowledgeable and even at times sublime, but still anchored in science and cautious not to overstate expectations. My only caveat to this book is this: though it does not propose steadfast "cures", but rather, holistic, preventative methods of management, it is NOT a good resource for yoga teachers to pull quotes from in their classes. It's too easy for the average layperson to equate "this practice = cure for this ailment" and potentially get you into trouble. In my opinion, this book serves best to inform your own personal practice or directly applied by PTs and Yoga Therapists.

A 1:1 read on how we work
I enjoyed this book! The teachings almost felt so clear that I felt it was a 1:1 guide. When you think of how we work piece by piece, the book articulates directly, clearly, and quickly the roots and groupings of how we work. Everything is explained with intent

Great book
I found this book effectively fuses modern western medicine with yoga to address a number of common health conditions. I use it mainly as a reference book.

useful resource
This book is excellent. It is from an Indian perspective of classical yoga as therapy not western alignment based asana therapy used like chiropractic care. It has info on chronic illnesses like heart disease, diabetes, digestive problems, thyroid disease, infertility, hypertension etc. It includes mantra and meditation practice as well as subtle body involvement in illness. Such as the 5th chakras role in thyroid disease. I'm a yoga therapist trained in India and this is an invaluable book in my library. I've bought it several times for others as well.
