I use them for general home gardening work so they're not put to the same type of use that a construction worker would experience. I chose a size higher than my usual shoes size to accommodate thicker socks, if necessary, and to ais getting them on and off quickly, something not possible with my old army boots.The quality of manufacture is good with thick leather used and tidy stitching throughout. Soles are sturdy and there is protection to the toes. I would give them 5 stars but haven't, only because it's too soon to see how they manage after a few year's use. I bought these boots in size 7 and they are roomy. Two pairs of thick socks sorted that. Once worn for a few hours the stiffness of the boot leg softened and they are now pretty comfortable. I’ll only wear them infrequently for building site visits and gardening. Not sure how they would be if I had to wear them all day. Only worn twice so far so can’t comment on how long they will last.
