Review: Title: work great! - I really like to use it. I know all the correct lights in my room now. Review: 2 out of 6 do not work ! - I ordered 6 of these light meters for a college astronomy class I am teaching demonstrating the inverse square law of light intensity. Today was the first time I opened them to use them for a class laboratory exercise. Two of the six meters digital displays do not display numbers unless you squeeze on the display edges. So, internally the contacts to the display are loose. Cannot find the manufacturer, but I need two replacements. The ones that work are really great, but quality control is obviously lacking. I cannot recommend because of this. Update: 2/19/2019: I took apart the two defective units yesterday and removed the circuit board. There is a foam pad that holds the electrical contacts from the circuit board to the digital display. The design does not have direct wiring or soldering between the circuit board and digital display. The squeezing of the contacts with the foam pad is not strong enough to allow full electrical contact with the display. This is why before taking the units apart, if I pressed the housing next to the display, the display would work. So, I cut a 2 inch long piece of masking tape and folded it over 3 times lengthwise and put it between the housing and display at the base of the display. Screwing the circuit board back in thus allowed the foam contacts to be more squeezed as everything was re-assembled. This solved the problem with both units. Obviously a design flaw with this product, but an easy fix for anyone willing to do it. Perhaps rubber should have been used rather than foam to hold the display contacts in place. Anyway, I ordered 3 more units. The 4 units that were functioning worked very well in the first astronomy laboratory experiment I did with my students the other day.
